Meaning people who are as pale as me and is impossible to tan and you glow in the shade and in sun light. meaning people who's skin looks like these pictures, since a certain amount of people keep telling you to go get a tan. -_- So people keep saying they should become tan like this. Guess i'll have to live in Japan or something since they tend to like pale and not tell others to get a tan. :P XD

Also with the poll when I said sick, I mean like they look like they have an illness type sick. Though if people think that's pale then they clearly haven't seen someone that pale and sick. Surprisingly we can actually become even more pale when sick or over heated. XD Now that type of pale looks scary and makes you wonder if we're going to kill over. :D
Probably for the same reasons that people dislike super dark skin. They both are the extremes of a particular trait and many people tend to prefer traits that are in the middle as opposed to those that reside on the far right or far left.
Another reason is society's standard of beauty. Pale skin hasn't been a beauty symbol in the US since the 1910s. Bronze skin has been viewed as the most desired skin complexion in the US for the past 90 years ( you can thank Coco Chanel for that).
Also having a tan skin gives your skin an exotic look which can make you look healthier; not to mention it gives off the impression that you have an active outdoor social life. Pale skin on the other hand is viewed by many to be either a sign of sickness or a sign that someone has no social life and as a result stays indoors all day like a vampire.
TL;DR: Many people dislike pale skin because there's a negative connotation behind the word "pale"... at least in America.
A tan does give you a "glow" that makes you look healthier (in my opinion) it's vitamin D so there is some science behind that. However there are people who are naturally pale and don't tan under the sun, they simply burn but are otherwise just as healthy.
As for Asia, the tan is nothing more than a social status thing - to them tanned = poor because you've been working outside in the fields all day.
Indeed and even the risk of skin cancer is higher, so trying to get tanned can be legit dangerous. Just ignore the idiots telling you to get a tan. (were they those private opinions from that question you posted earlier?)
Generally speaking I don't care. But, being a ghost like myself and most of my friends I don't see it as bad. I burn very easily (I live in the uk - I can sunburn after 20minutes... Yes really) and I don't tan I burn and peel. For this reason I try to avoid the sun. So I completely understand fellow pale skinners. Nothing wrong with it, we just had less pigment/melanoma (whatever it is called) haha.

Honestly, I like pale skin. I am pale and have never had a problem with it and in fact enjoy being pale. The only time it gets annoying is when people think I'm ill because of it. But I like having this milky white skin, I feel like it suits me. Somehow I just don't think tan would.

people do like pale skin. most of the world does actually lol. pale people get shit about being pale, dark people get shit about being dark. I agree all skintones can be lovely.
(I'm a girl) People hate pale skin because they associate it with some macabre things like sickness or death, because in these conditions the color of the skin become more "pale" and less "colored" Maybe that's why ghosts or eery people (or beings) are always pale. Embrace your pale skin and remind them their own mortality lol. I always say to myself that I'll recover all my paleness and make people uncomfortable. I'm still in this process because when I was a kid I used to tan because of this toxic culture (I was born in Brazil) so people felt uncomfortable with my skin color (and look, I'm not on the fairest complexion scale...) they always have said: you're so pale go get a tan!! and for years I used to think being white was wrong but when I was about sixteen I started to not like my tan lines and I decided I wanted my skin to be even and with its natural color again, since then I've never tanned again and I'm more pale, I'm in my late 20s and some tan didn't get away but they faded well. I'm currently living in Spain and I tell people I'm Brazilian but I don't like to tan and there are many Brazilians with natural white skin too.
Sadly vampire level of paleness is immune to tanning. XD Plus it makes me want to show people what a truly sick pale person looks like. That or when i'm over heated because people start to panic. :D
Generally speaking all women of all ethnicities are lighter-skinned on average than their male counter-part. Thus its a fair assumptation to make it is an attraction factor on women. Aka white men prefer white women that are lighter skinned than them. Black guys its the same, etc.

Maybe. My assumptation would be simply that its unhealthy - because too much exposure to the sun / too little protection from it. That can easily cause more skin-damage than on your average person. And lets face it, health is one of the biggest attraction-factors there is. Though I doubt its to the extent of being a deal-breaker for most.
Personally I don't care, but tanned skin is less likely to get sun burns as opposed to being pale. But nothing wrong with being pale, it's kinda sexy... but hey thats just a theory... a skin theory... wait wait... nope wrong way to end this... That's just my 'opinion' :v
Well that's not really true, I mean yes people don't tend to like extremes but globally you will find that lighter skin is more favorable, there are a lot of racial connotations involved but those are the facts whether socially or biologically motivated. There is a reason why skin bleaching is a big business outside the US and Europe.
I can't speak about the case of pale men in your post, since I personally am not attracted to men of any tone, BUT I think all natural skin colors on healthy women are beautiful, from really really pale to really really dark. :D The diversity of skin tones makes them all great in their own ways, and they are all hot!
i have an islander brown skin tone and i find pale skin attractive. it makes me feel really dominant, but i equally like tanned aswell sometimes even more. I've had really white girls and redheads stroke my skin in HS, was a little strange at first but it makes sense, you want what you dont have
I love pale skin. Tan skin, however, hides skin defects, and negatives generally overrule positives. Some people have perfect skin, and are pals, and it's the most beautiful skin type. For most, however, we don't have perfect skin, and so tan skin helps us hide the defects.
Personally, I dislike pale skin, because of the higher lisk of melanoma. I don't think it's ugly, but it's hard to deal with your partner always getting a sun burn. The worse part is the red blisted skin and the after shedding of the damaged skin.
Ironically, the more ambiguous and generic a person is, the more attractive they are. Also, it looks healthier and looks like the person doesn't stay in their basement 22 hours a day
That part sucks if they stay in the sun a lot but wear sun screen since they can't tan and just burn. So then you would have to tell people that you actually do get out.
I like being tanned in summer, but only in summer. The rest of the year I like my pale self. Make up looks better when I'm pale. I have naturally dark hair and eyebrows so it evens out.

^ There was a viral outbreak some time ago that infected lots of people and made them go insane, unable to see the beauty of all natural skin colors. That's the only logical explanation. :P
Luckily I remained uninfected, and am working on a cure for those infected, as we speak. Because seriously, those people are missing out big time on a lot of hotties in the world. xD
I got a pale skin and tbh, we look like vampires, like dead people or hospital sick people... A taned skin looks way better! Only a summer vacation can change that.
