I am South Asian and I'm still living in South Asia.
I am really really attracted to White men. I love the way they talk, the way they look, they are often courteous compared to South Asian guys. I am not bashing South Asian men. It's just what I observed.
I went on dates with a White guy who was an expat in my country. The best time I ever had.
I don't see myself marrying a South Asian guy. I sometimes feel guilty about it because I feel like I am neglecting my own men and being a "self-hater".

I don't know why people answer questions without reading it thoroughly.
I am a SOUTH Asian.
Many people have answered blindly assuming that I am Asian (which means East Asian for most of them). I am not. I am a South Asian, which is also Asian but way different than East Asians.

Probably because we dominate the world and are a symbol of success and power. Mostly. For now, anyway. You might change your tune when China takes over as the world leader and the biggest innovations come out of Asia. Like, in 50 years. Asians are smarter than white people on average. Or maybe because we're typically more colorful than other races with the varying eye and hair color. Could be anything.

I learned racial preference can change over time. Mine changed in middle school, though it's stayed the same since then.

And I suppose Asian men tend to be less romantic and more shy, just because that is what is culturally appropriate. At least, that is a reason Japanese women give when some of them say they prefer Western men. Or, they might at least mention those qualities as being preferable to the shy, uncertain demeanor of Japanese men. Expressing affection is typically not done overtly in Japan, and they don't have pet names like "baby," "sweetie" "honey," "darling" etc. Though I don't know if it's the same where you live. Though it seems to be a theme in Asian countries: excessive politeness and lack of directness, lack of expressing affection.

In any case, there could be any number of reasons why. That's something you would be more ready to answer than I after some introspection. You shouldn't feel guilty about it. One cannot control what they are attracted to. That's like feeling guilty because you were born a woman instead of a man. It's not in your control. Guilt is the most useless emotion.
