Questions that don't seem related are often the most important because they get your subconscious traits. With the ones you do understand, you could skew them in the way you feel you should be, either accidentally, or on purpose.

well take a question like this for example
"I have studied how to win at gambling."
isn't this a simple yes or no question? how could you be neural? or how could you be somewhat in agreement. it seems like you either have or have not studied how to win at gambling... obviously not all questions are so cut and dry but it seems strange that there were 5 answers to some questions that seemed really black and white

Well, it could be that you looked at a couple of "how to win at gambling" pages or something or you could've all out taken courses and examined every possibility to its fullest. There ARE varying degrees to which one could answer that question.

i disagree.
if i asked a a friend have you ever researched gambling technics the answer should be a very simple yes or no. there isn't much gray area.
another example "I use lotion on my hands." how could you be neutral? how could the answer be anything other than yes or no?

some questions are somewhat open ended or open to varying degrees of ambivalence. but some are very much yes or no questions
