How do you feel about the word "Nigger"?

Not "nigga," but "nigger" with a hard R.

It doesn't bother me when properly used. Not all niggers are black, and not all blacks are niggers. I've personally known more white niggers than black, but they tend to be called white trash, hillbillies, marsh rats, or canyon critters (depending on where you are).

What I don't like is when there's a black guy like my friend who's like an adopted brother to me, immigrant, very well educated (he's fluent in like 17 languages), hard working (we work together a lot so I know he works), comes from a fairly well-off family, doesn't dress like ghetto trash, doesn't lower every car he owns or put half-inch thick tires with 25 inch rims, etc, and someone calls him a n**. He's about as far from that as he could get, without being a native Norwegian from the far north of Norway and is a multi-billionaire.

Now if the speaker is talking about some scumbag ghetto trash, that's an appropriate use of the word, regardless of the ethnicity of whoever they're talking about. White, black, Asian, Middle Eastern, doesn't matter.

I think people should be able to say it regardless of their race/color as long as their using the word to describe someone based off their actions not color
i want it to be socially OK to use it and for it to become desensitized and ultimately disconnect itself from its racist background
anyone who hears this word being used at someone else and claims its "racist" is a racist for connecting and thinking its directed at a person of color instead of its true meaning
just saying it would be awesome to hear this word being used and not have peoples first though "black" but it will take a special kind of exposure to make it happen

I usually just laugh at anyone who uses it. I was called that once and just thought it was hilarious that they thought I'd be insulted by it. But I do know that means they don't think much of me so I'd definitely dissociate myself from that person. But I don't like any version of the word honestly. If it's not used for educational or historical or artistic purposes, then it shouldn't be used. Like I've seen it in poems from black authors or books written back in the 1800's. That I don't mind. But people who just use it just to use it... yeah I'll pass.

It's about time people deal with this word without crying about it. It's already a popular word and I'm completely okay if my friends use it, as long as they're referring to a friend and not using it in the racist sense. I assume we all know the different between n** and Nigga?

If my friends use it in the context of the word Nigga, I'm okay with that. I don't ever use that word because it feels crude, but I don't mind it when others use it. On the other hand, if someone uses it to offend a black person, that's when I'd get sorta embarrassed for being friends with such a jerk.

It's just either
1.) A combination of a word "Negro" (either from Spanish and means literally "black") and a word "digger"
2.) Latin word "niger" (without extra "n" -- https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/niger#Latin -- which also means "black")

i don't really care. it's more about the tone and manner in which you say it. at the end of the day, it's just a word, but also, i realize that some still use it seriously and are actually racist. i'm fine with it, but just don't complain if i knock your teeth in.

I only say 'nigga' when I'm talking to my friends and sister... and it's very rare for me to say 'nigga' and I don't use it so often.
I don't like the word 'nigger'. I don't even say the word 'nigger' and I don't like hearing it. My family and I got called that once by some racist idiots and from that day I really HATE that word.

It's stupid to keep using that word. I'm mildly dyslexic. Sometimes I have misread it as Nigeria instead for some reason.

I use the "nigga" with some of my black childhood friends because back then we had no idea of the meaning and history behind the word. So my friends know there is no bad intent when I use the word when we are hanging out.
