truthfully, equality is a stupid concept, nobody can be truly made equal, never, there will always be prejudice, even in and esp within the legal system, only people who truly understand and accept this can move forward and see beyond trying to do stupid things like give equal rights. it is the MOST correct thing to do when writing law cause nobody will object, but implementing is a whole different game, prejudice will always seep in, and I don't mean just based in gender.
It's the FI pushing their agenda. Men and women are simply not the same. The 'equal' part comes in a relationship where they have equal say, equal power. But they're certainly not the same. Part of the original goal of feminism was equal pay for the same job - I don't think anyone has a problem with that, but it's just not what it's all about today.
They say that they ARE equal, but they aren't. Society is used to treating women lower than men and old habits die hard. And then there are the feminazis, who say that women are more superior than men.
''Society is used to treating women lower than men''
really? who gets looked at funny if they dont give their seat up on a train/bus to a women? who is able to hit people and get away with it? who gets the media coverage for their problems? you have it better than ANY group in the western world, and you still aren't happy.
equality and differences don't have to be mutually exclusive--meaning we can still have differences and be equal (think of people of different ages, races etc) differences do not equal inferiority
They are a hell of a lot more equal than we are according to them. They have some other capabilities we donβt have like man hate and overall vindictiveness. If you want to understand them think man and remove all responsibility and accountability and then you are close.
Nothing is equal. Nothing at all. if 1 glass of water can be different from another in any way at all be it how warm or cold it is or how much there is of it doesn't matter its impossible for both to be 100% equal and if both genders were equal, then we might aswell have no gender at all and be asexual no? We're different so that we could take advantage of our own strengths, and support the weaknesses of others. the world would be boring without those strengths and weaknesses
If women were treated exactly the same as men they wouldn't like it. I can tell you that for a fact. Were not the same and should be treated the same in most things but not all.
Equal but different. There are obvious differences between us so we're not the same but a man and a woman should be treated equally, not as if one is superior or inferior to the other.
@FakeName123 There's always somebody... I think you know exactly what I mean. And billionaire has nothing to do with good or bad anyway. A billionaire can still be a murderer. But either way, notice how in most developed countries prisoners, no matter the crime, still have human rights and will still have opportunities when/if they leave custody. It's because they're being treated equally, with adjustment for their crime, making them equal but different to others. Being fair to people isn't necessarily giving them the exact same thing. If you were starving to death, and some other guy was just hungry, and I gave you 4 burgers and the other guy 2 burgers, I've treated you both differently but fairly. Being equal and treating people fairly means they must still be treated according to their personal circumstances. It's unfair and not being treated equally if I tell a guy with no legs to run somewhere, and a guy with legs to run to the same place. Get it?
1. Equal infront of the law. Which on paper we definitely have achieve and if at all, then women are treated better by biased courts.
2. Equal outcomes.
To go with your example of giving one hungry guy 4 burgers and the other 2 burgers - who decides that 4 burgers is just? And why would you need to give that hungry guy 4 burgers to begin with? And who gives it to those guys (I assume the government)?
3. Why do people need to be treated according to their personal circumstances to begin with?
@Fancygoldfish no, women deserve equal sentences for the crime committed and luckily, a lot of judges dont fall for that crap of ''equity''. if you murderer someone we dont care about their ''circumstance'' they are a danger to society, and will be treated as such. We have had women get off easy, come back out and become a repeat offender. One example? a women driver who used to get drunk and get in her car was let off easy. She came out and did it again, this time to kill an entire family. Things like this can be avoided, if we do not treat certain groups of people like babies
@FakeName123 equity is for people who think they cannot succeed for being a minority or women but the real case is, if you think you can't succeed, then you won't. people have to transcend stigmas and stop letting people label them. depriving someone who deserves a job or a education is morally wrong on any level and is a big reason why we see a lot of men turning away from the education system which will do major damage.. a lot of deserving men have been denied access to schools and work forces for ''diversity'' but I guess its morally ok if it doesn't happen to them. two wrongs doesn't make a right. We dont deprive people just because they happen to be men, as they wouldn't like it the other way around. Equity is crap, you do not define a man by his gender. isn't that what we have been fighting against since the 60s supposedly? sexism and racism? well in the case of white males, thats not entirely true and this is..
coming from a minority himself who has seen his white father struggle with mental illness, ptsd from war, depression, homelessness and on the brink of killing himself, yet I am supposed to believe he was privileged for what group he belonged too? would it be more convincing if he had darker pigment like me? then can he play the equality card? or what if he decided to say he felt like a women?
yeah everybody here heard that men n women r equal.. but I think we are not equal.. and this is beautiful that how men n women inequality balances everything.. men can't b beautiful and women can't b like men.. so yes we are not equal.

They are equal and different. Just depends what you're talking about. Men's and women's bodies are different, but equally amazing. Men and women have the same capabilities for intelligence. So on and so forth.
@gregnator Actually that's false. Theaverage IQ is the same but distributed differently. Men have more geniuses and also more idiots. Women have more average IQ. All by percentage of population of course.
as every day goes by i deal with people who have no clue how to drive wich 85% of the time its women and when im on this app and facebook 75% of the time its women posting idiotic comments and statements.
men and women deserve equal rights as humans.. but no men and women are not biologically and physically equal.. we create more problems by trying to eliminating the differences which cannot really happen instead of acknowledging and accepting them
πππ I watched that video the moment it dropped and it is hilarious
but I didn't think if it during forming the question, the basis was the argument from the regressive left saying men and women are exactly are equals psychologically, biologically, etc. and that there are no differences between the sexes
Women and men in my opinion are both humans of the same level though NOT the same. I'll be straightforward here but I DONT HAVE A PENIS, NOR YOU HAVE A VAGINA. Don't laugh here lmao but I mean humans need cooperation for civilization to grow. Without women, there won't be men, since who would give birth to the males? And without men, there will be no women, since who will father their children? Men and women have different roles in the society. But everyone HAS A CHOICE. A woman usually takes care of her children and the man provides for them. But this is the 21st century and women were given power. Women can be the breadwinners and sometimes we see men that take care of the children instead. The thing is, HUMANS WERE ALL GIVEN EQUAL RIGHT TO CHOOSE. We can all choose to be what we want to be, especially now. The women were seen as feminine and men as more masculine figure. So in the early era of civilization women weren't allowed to protect, they had to be protected instead.
And about biologically, as far as I know, the woman's clitoris is some sort of girl dick. It was supposed to be a dick but then became something else instead. search that up π
different physical , personal , psychological and personal from many perspectives such as love meaning cheating or loyality and morality changes from one location to another eastern minds than western minds so the are different even in duties and work
Men and women ARE different, simply because men are men and women are women. Because of that, there will be things that both men and women will have advantages over.

seems like a rational approach
"society is used to treating women lower than men"
I'm assuming you're not talking about western society, because if you are, you're severely mistaken
I'm referring to people
point still stands
''Society is used to treating women lower than men''

equal in society but biologically speaking we're different

They are different and have equal rights... they are not the same or equal.
Equal doesn't mean the same. We should be treated equally, but of course we're different.
If people aren't the same, why should the be treated equally though?
Extreme example: Do you treat a mass murderer the same as a billionaire?
@FakeName123 that was a horrible example, even if extreme
@FakeName123 There's always somebody...
I think you know exactly what I mean.
And billionaire has nothing to do with good or bad anyway. A billionaire can still be a murderer.

So you are talking about two different things.
EQUITY! It's equity Equity. That's what everyone is saying really. We're not equal / the same , but if we get what's fair, it's Equity!
@Fancygoldfish no, women deserve equal sentences for the crime committed and luckily, a lot of judges dont fall for that crap of ''equity''. if you murderer someone we dont care about their ''circumstance'' they are a danger to society, and will be treated as such. @Fancygoldfish
And how exactly is equity fair? Just giving someone more, because he/she has less while someone else worked hard to get it?
@FakeName123 equity is for people who think they cannot succeed for being a minority or women but the real case is, if you think you can't succeed, then you won't. people have to transcend stigmas and stop letting people label them. depriving someone who deserves a job or a education is morally wrong on any level and is a big reason why we see a lot of men turning away from the education system which will do major damage.. a lot of deserving men have been denied access to schools and work forces for ''diversity'' but I guess its morally ok if it doesn't happen to them. two wrongs doesn't make a right. well technically on average women have a lower iq then men
he's right

We are absolutely different. That in no way makes us unequal.
not so absolutely but not identical either.
Honestly, I agree with you. As a woman, I don't feel lesser than a man. Men and women are DIFFERENT and they were born to be.
Both?
Men and women are equally valuable and should be treated equally under the law. They are different just as all peoples are different.
