Why do people dislike introverts?

Apparently we seem condescending. Which really drives me insane. I have anxiety so I literally just sit quietly unless directly spoken too when we go out to friend's houses. Dancing around and being super loud and drunk just IS NOT my cup of tea, and so that makes me condescending. In our group of friends I am the old, boring, soccer mom that cleans up during parties while everyone else is doing what they do. I hate it.

I don't dislike introverts, I am an introvert. I think it just takes a little longer to get to know introverts, and being so quit all the time can make you seem stuck up. I know this because girls have called me stuck up for being to embarrassed to try to make friends...

People don’t dislike introverts. They dislike elitist assholes who think they’re smarter than everyone and are the most likely people to state that they are “introverts”

I didn’t know people disliked introverts specifically. If someone dislikes another, it could be coincidental that that person they dislike happens to be an introvert. If someone were to dislike another solely because of them being introverted, it might be because you can’t seem to gauge what an introvert is thinking and you might mistaken a person’s introversion as being rude or ignoring you.

Introvert here but not particularly shy or withdrawn so never had a problem.

I think it's more frustraiting than condescending. Introvert tend to give small answers. How's it going? Fine, what have you been up to? Not much, have anything coming up? Not really.

It seems to me that people prefer more outgoing personalities. I'm pretty shy and introverted in person so I really get your question. It's especially difficult if you're interested in someone.

I don't know why because I am also an introvert but it may be because being quite makes us seem uninterested in others or like we have some kind of superiority complex.

Probably because they need to start the conversation usually, but they have no idea what sort of conversation they should attempt to initiate

I feel like its the conflicts after the conversations start. If someone is too inverted its easy to think that they are disinterested. So the intoverted person thinks that the other person isn't interested because the other person doesn't feel like they were interesting enough.

I don't know anyone who dislikes introverts SPECIFICALLY they usually dislike people who happen to be introverts, many of my closest friends are introverts
