The way they're presented is what's wrong. There is nothing bad about a good character in a story that just happens to be a woman or a minority. The problem nowadays is that the way they're presenting these "empowered" women does them a disservice instead. Rey from the new Star Wars being s shining example of an attempt to create an empowered woman that resulted in a complete and utter Marry Sue character that has no faults, no real goals, is liked by everyone, pretty much never fails and pretty much always wins with little effort.
That is not empowered. That is just ridiculous.

Wonder Woman is an old character, there's nothing wrong with her either way. It's not some attempt at giving women "representation" or "empowering" them, it's just a superhero that is also a woman, which is why it's such a good character, it survived without being some badly written perfect muslim African lesbian woman that's there just to drive up the sales of a movie with a bad story and premise that is otherwise just ideological bullshit.
They don't need to be white guys to be good characters. There's many good non-white or female characters, look at things like Blade, all of the Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan movies, Morgan Freeman's stuff, or the newer things like Atomic Blonde and Hitman's Bodyguard. If I watched more movies I would've given more examples, these are coming from someone who rarely watches movies. All of them have good, well written characters that are not white men. If you make the protagonist of your comic series be "Isis", the lesbian muslim liberal progressive superhero just to be inclusive then you're not making a good comic. However, if "Isis" was lesbian because of a well written story and intricate character evolution with no special attention to bogus "inclusiveness" then yes, that would be a good comic. They're fictional characters, not public officials.

Because they live off controlling the life of others, they are pro-choice (socially, not about abortion) as long as you are choosing the same thing that they want you to choose
Also they are always on the lookout for things to be offended by to prove to themselves that they are the victim, which is the foundation of their existence.
That is why they have to widen their reach when they run out of things to be offended by.
I think they are quite self conscious about themselves, so they feel the people they read as or play as must be relatable in some kind of way to them, which is why they like having oversized women in videogames ; they feel validated and happier with how they look. I think they want stronger female characters because their life is so boring that they need a 'relatable' gender to be cooler than them when they rp as them ;P

I think there are less SJW's than non-SJW's in the world. However, unlike them, we don't organize ourselves in groups to put forward any ideology. It seems to me all we do is complain about them while also not doing anything.
It's easy to take over when you claim moral high-ground and brigade and vilify anyone that questions you. All it takes is numbers. Nobody wants to get harassed by thousands of accounts for opposing anything. As soon as you oppose something small you run the risk of being cast as a total enemy.
Their entire scope is ruining the things only men like. The average woman still doesn't like Marvel or Magic, and definitely doesn't like Warhammer 40k, but now some follow the fandoms just to further their goal of making everything "progressive" and "equal".

The thing is that the game developers see it as the primary representation of the game. There's a difference between women + POC and "Social Justice Warriors". I used to love 40k. There have always been empowered women in 40k. They're just in power armor so you can't tell them apart.
Typically women don't really have power armour since they can't be accepted into the Adeptus Astartes (a primary reason for feminists to bicker about 40k). But the Adeptus Sororitas - a sisterhood of warriors is no less badass and yet still that's not enough.
