It's what the current culture approves of so media naturally changes to appease the masses.

60 years ago it was popular for comic books to ridicule Asian and other minorities with crude stereotypes because that was a popular mindset of the culture.

yeah there is a bunch of ridiculous nonsense involved now, just as there was back then, but it's what many people are actually interested in seeing.

there is an assumption that some people are interested in it though, and that comes from ideas that are popular in the culture. And I just looked up comic book sales to confirm your claim and found that comic sales are actually increasing a lot every year. Maybe sales of a specific super heroe's comic are down though, but it would seem to be an exception.

Marvel sales down drastically. The SJW replacement of popular characters with anyone who is non-white or a male has hurt those comics while new original superheroes who are non-white males have done well.

Reply to update: I am not surprised that sales are down. This PC stuff does not go over well with the majority but that does not deter the minority from trying to sell their weird ideas.
