There is two and the rest are mental illnesses. With that said It should be respected as anxiety or depression would, as well as helped. You wouldn't encourage a person with schizophrenia to embrace who they are or not get help. Why do. that to this. It's awful really. There are two genders male and female. You have a dick you are a boy if you have a vagina you are a girl period. Dont come with well there is unisex yeah they have a penis and they have a vagina which can possibly be removed at birth. And they dont 'feel' like the opposite gender so they try to pass as it. They actually have a physical condition which gives them both parts. It is not a soild foundation to base why there are more than two genders.

SEX IS NOT THE SAME AS GENDER.
Gender is your identity related to your sex - how masculine or feminine you feel. Sex is chromosomes/hormones/whatever you have between your legs. Gender is fluid. Sex kinda isn't because it's determined by biology, but there are also those who are intersex.
There are many ways you could identify in terms of gender. You can have a vagina but identify as more masculine, and you can have a penis but identify as more feminine. Then there are those who don't really fit any of the stereotypical masculine/feminine traits and prefer to identify as agender or gender neutral.
Saying that there are more than two genders is incorrect. However, claiming that there are only two genders is also incorrect.
Gender is a spectrum, like sexual orientation.
So, if you consider being 73.5379% straight and 26.4621% gay a "unique sexual orientation" that is inherently different from being 73.5378% straight and 26.4622% gay, I guess you could say the same for gender. In that case, there is an indefinite number of sexual orientations and genders.
Personally, I believe it makes more sense to simply think of it as a rainbow-like spectrum, where the different colors blur into each other.
Estrogen and testosterone are found in both of the sexes. Males have more testosterone than estrogen and the opposite is true for females. Each individual has a different ratio of estrogen to testosterone. With this one could say that genders are on a spectrum, and masculine and feminine are polar opposites.

I'm not about to start memorizing all of these definitions with genders, sexes, sexualities, gender identities and what not. All I know is that there are men and women and that's all there has to be.
No. The idea that gender is separate from biological sex is a cop-out. It's a way to avoid the argument that biology determines what you are, and it isn't based on fact, only feelings. If a biological male feels like he has no gender, then by saying that gender is separate from his biology he avoids that argument. That's all there is to it.
Some people mentioned hormones and a "spectrum". There's no spectrum. We're a sexually dimorphic species. That's how we reproduce (no shit). Only a very tiny percentage of people are born with both male and female genitalia, and usually one part is functional while the other is not, and usually they're unable to reproduce - that's a developmental defect. Most of us are either male or female, feelings don't change this fact.
As for hormones, yeah, some people have different levels. But even a male with low testosterone for example will have a lot more testosterone than a high testosterone female. Such a low level of testosterone is also a sign that there's something wrong, for example a disorder hypogonadism. Or it could be simply down to diet, lifestyle, other illnesses that effect hormonal balance e. g. diabetes, depression etc.
What many people don't seem to talk about a lot is the very high suicide rate amongst post-op transsexuals. One of the biggest side effects of low testosterone in a man is depression. If the man has low test and as a result believes he's a woman, and then takes hormones to further lower his natural testosterone levels, it's no wonder that he's more likely to commit suicide.
The main point I'm making is that this balance of hormones - some men having low-t and some women having high-t - isn't evidence that we're on a spectrum - if your hormones are out of balance it's a health hazard or is the result of an illness/disorder, of which one causes the other. It's not natural and it's not the way we're meant to be. Men are meant to be men, women are meant to be women. This should be common sense. We have an X chromosome in our gene pool as well as a Y. They can pair up as XX and XY while rarely occurring as a number of Chromosomal abnormalities such as XXY and XYY. These pairs have marked effects on a childās development many of which have been heavily studied and are seen as fairly trustworthy predictive patterns. Sometimes these process can be effected during development by a number of internal and external factors resulting in even more phenotypic variation. You can call it sex you can call it gender but some people are just going to be out of the norm. Thereās nothing wrong with that. However, ones existence of being outside the norm does not entitle them to literally anything. A government is a tool used by humans to advance collectively. Some of these governments believe allowing people to decide for themselves how they wish to construct their government is best. Some like ours in the US use the public to select representatives to speak for them. This system can and occasionally is corrupted but the alternative creates a situation of stagnation due to the vast number of votes that would need to be tally per each decision. So weāre left with this corruption. However it is not a bad system. One positive outcome for this system is that we are free from being persecuted for what we say and or think. Even if it is offensive. In fact our ability to offend is often the starting point for very productive discussions. However passing a law to force people to speak a certain way about anything is fundamentally dangerous especially when the words are not spreading discourse with intent to harm. This unfortunately means that no matter how much it may hurt me I should not force others to refrain from calling me the n word by using the government as a threat nor should someone be punished for calling me maāam instead of sir. You can call yourself shen the wonder dog all day but the second you begin to force others into your box of correct speech is the second my country becomes a dangerous place for free thought. Now that Iāve expressed my opinion Iād like to add I believe in more than two genders and have zero problem calling them what they prefer but donāt ever think Iāll feel comfortable punishing people for not choosing to do this. Instead support those who choose to be supportive and let the others dwindle from their ignorance.
No. Only two genders.
Two different sets of chromosomes
Two different types of genitalia
Two types of being (Masculine/feminine)
Two body types (Google difference in a man and woman's bone structure and muscle difference)
Two different types of hormones and each has a higher set of receptors in their body for said gender
Two different brain Anatomy. Women have larger brains and also the hippocampus where emotions are processed is more developed and larger than a mans
Any gender identity is just a mood. Remember those mood rings? Imagine combining a mood ring (changes color as you where it to match your mood) with something like Marvel for example. Like oh my mood ri g turned red, I am angry, so I am now the Hulk. Everyone must call me Hulk or I smash.
Apply back to genders. Let's say someone wakes up, "boy, I sure am horny today, I guess that makes me pansexual today because I could just about screw the first person I see"
Next day, "Agh, not really feeling it today, maybe I am asexual"
All these other genders are just identity terms to associate with a feeling (which come and go). So they say it it is gender fluidity, because since your mood and feelings change, then therfore, so does the gender you now attached to itRight let's sort all this shit out now. There are two genders, defined by science as male or female. Males having a penis and females having a vagina.
This is the denfition of gender... you can call yourself what ever you want but at the end of the day your fit into the class of male or female ( You either have XX chromosomes or XY chromosomes, there is no changing that) No matter what you do to your body your are still scientifically the gender you were born as, and science is fact and as a result the truth.
If you don't agree with this then create your own term, don't try changing the definition of gender when it already has a proven scientifically accurate definition.
Some people are just brain dead... Oh and don't expect me to call a man she. You can believe you are whoever you want to be, but I don't need to join in with your delusion.gender is a biological construct that exists for the sole purpose of breeding. An asexual creature that reproduces is just copying its own genes. By making two genders, breeding becomes a game of swapping genes, which allows for more mutations, which creates better and worse offspring.
The worse die, the better move on and advance. Pure evolution.
The fact that we are not some primitive life form living in a Darwinian hell of adapt or die, and are instead sapient beings, does not change biology. We have two genders. Male and female. Their existence is for us the same as it is for every other gendered species: to allow two individuals to mix their genes to make offspring.
There is no biological basis for additional genders, which means that anyone who thinks they are a different gender is merely living out a fantastic delusion in their own mind, fueled by the belief that if they are not unique, if they do not stand out as different, then their existence is meaningless.Iām not as educated on gender as Iād like to be but I know that based on the picture used for this poll āthey and theirā are not gender specific words and used as belonging or groups but I guess nowadays more than one gender in one person... I have a transgender client I donāt say āthey got this doneā I say āshe or he got this doneā other wise itās like Iām talking about more than one person in conversation. I believe there are two genders, male and female with 50 shades in between. Itās all in preference of the person, how they feel or would liked to be addressed as in respect.
I guess there are cases where people are born with both male and female reproductive organs. So if there is a third it would be that... but wait that's sex. Sex and gender are too confusing. I could get all technical and say that gender is a social construct and really anything can be considered a gender if society deems it so but I haven't seen any new gender constructs that aren't anything but a mix of masculine and feminine norms all meshed into one. As most people understand gender, we relate it to sex and assign characteristics to a person based on their sex. When someone choses characteristics from both categories they are gender fluid but they aren't exactly a third gender. Even the people who are neither feminine or masculine can really shake these roles and standards and still become a conglomerate of both genders.
I'd be open to debate if anyone wants to.
For me there are two genders. I know and understand the nb argument about gender and sex not being the same thing. Nevertheless for me that is implicitly stating (and defending) gender roles. I don't like gender roles and I think that they are the true reason for this whole debate (e. g. "I don't fit in the male role nor in the female role, therefore I must be something different).
For me gender and sex are the same thing and they are solely related to the sexual organs each person has. They don't define your tastes nor hos you should behave.Gender can only be biologically male or female, 'Gender' and ' Gender Identity' as well as 'Sexuality' are what people think of when they say there are more than 2 gender options, all 3 are considered different things with their own categorization methods.
There are two genders. Intersex people are not only rare, but their condition depends on being some form of the two genders, not a separate gender. Genderfluid people identify with both of the two genders. Agender people identify with neither. None of these are separate genders, just your mental relationship WITH the two existing genders.
I think there coming a separations between sex and gender. you have the biological part with your genes. But even then there people with more genes so they wouldn't be man or woman.
But you also have identification what is expected from society from a gender (guys are though and strong women are loving and caring for example). And what do you want the world to see you as to fill those expectations. (it can be exhausting for someone have to break from those expectations every time) But in my eyes creating more genders isn't the solution. but breaking the system and except there is no such thing as black and white in those expectations. Stop talking what do boys want and what do girls want. but ask what do people want."Gender" is cultural. What defines one gender or the other varies from place to place. There are plenty of examples of cultures that have had three or more genders, both hypothetical/mythical and real: Ancient Greece, Indonesia, Zuni Native Americans and even the Ancient Hebrews to name a few.
There are only 2 genders: male and female. You could be whatever you want, and if youāre the opposite of what youāve been assigned since birth, youāre transgender. Transgender is an adjective. You could be a feminine male or masculine woman, but you cannot be neither
You could make the argument that intersex can be acknowledged as its own gender, as they can be born with both or the wrong reproductive organs. There's people that have seemingly perfectly normal female bodies, but where ovaries should be they have testicles. Unfortunate, but it's close to 1% of the entire population.
But in short you either have one set of reproductive organs or another. There is no "non-binary genderqueer" organ. There are only 3 genders thise with XX chromosomes known as females and those with XY chromosomes known as males. Any other combinations such as XXY or XYY etc. Are genetic aberrations and are usualy accosiated with a whole slew of mental and physical health problems. Anyone who disagrees with this is either A retarded or B psychotic
Personally, I believe this question is somewhat flawed.
In a way, I believe in more than to and in another way, I believe in only two.
To elaborate, I believe that you can be is male, female, neither or both. (And can change in between the these)
I believe that transgendered people are whatever gender they want to express themselves as.Personally I don't think so. Although I see how it can be possible to feel like both male&female or feel like neither.
But I won't ever be the one to bash people who think there is. Open to the idea, very doubtful.
Either way I don't mind as long as you don't expect me to call you odd pronounsIs there any third genital part given by God? I can say penis and vegina are given by God. Do you think you can challange God's decision?
There are only two genders and those are male and female.
Whatever others you see are can be called male behaving as Female or Female behaving as male or someone trying to play God by changing his/her Genital parts. Whatever you do people. I believe God will forgive you for going against his decision. There are male and female. If your trans then your still one or the other. If your gender fluid your one or the other depending on whatever that criteria is but still 1 or the other. Intersexed... your still in between 2 genders. Non binary... your just refusing to chose between you guessed it 2 genders male female and I don't wanna chose in other words a child.
