I think it's a bit of a semantic debate. If you assume that there are no clear lines between genders then how do you identify them? In general I would have absolutely no problem with it but the media attention it gets compared to the amount of people who doesn't identify as non-binary is insanely big. I have the same problem with certain gay rights activists in western societies. They achieved already what they wanted so what's the point of still doing gay prides etc? Try identifying yourself as non-binary in Russia for example. You'll be most likely beaten if not killed. That's a horrible place for people who don't identify as man or woman but the other extreme is also harmful when non-binary people wants special treatment because they claim that there are more than 2 genders. Equality should be equality, not "I want equal or better treatment when it suits me". That's also the problem with the modern distorted feminism. Having equal rights was the goal but do we really want true equality? Do women want to be drafted in the military? Shoud we test women for prostate cancer "because equality"? The traditional gender roles served a purpose in the past and I agree that we need to take a look and think about how it works in the modern world but we need to have some common sense when we think about these things. I never talked personally someone who identifies as non-binary but most of them I heard talking on the internet were quite annoying and repulsive and it's bad. They came across entitled and arrogant. They need to understand that they are a tiny minority and most of the population is not educated on this topic. I think if they want to change people's minds and be more accepted, they should have a different approach. Maybe have a laugh about sometimes instead of constantly trying to indoctrinate people. I love people who have a healthy self-degrading banter every once in a while. I think with a different approach they could achieve so much more. If they are misgendered, what if they go "Oh, the thing is, I don't indentify as female. I know, it's unusual and probably not easy for you to understand it but that's just how I am. If you don't mind, could you not refer to me as "she"? I would appreciate it." I'm sure some approach it like this but unfortunately on the internet I haven't come across any and it's bad for them too.
So in conclusion I think the debate around gender took a bad turn in terms of representation and communication. Think about the whole mess with Canada and Jordan Peterson and that whole drama. It was politicized and people gave up on listening to each other.

Hell no. There are men and there are women. I am open to people being born in the wrong body and thus trans people and i think less than 1% are innersex but even in those cases the person is often much mmore of one gender than another. Even today when someone sees me walking my dog i never hear anything but "is it a boy or girl" or is it a he or she" At least for now even liberals when having babies is involved ask "Are you having a boy or girl"
I have no doubt with modern liberalism that we will see babies not having a gender at birth and "deciding" when they get a bit older like say 5 which they want to be and taxpayers will have to pick up the tab for parents social experiment.
If democrats can get votes from thinking their are more than 2 genders they will support it. They used to be against amnesty for illegals and now are virtual ( not total) open bordres. They used to be tough on crime and now you practically have to apologize to the black community for enforcing the rule of law ( not that things do not happen to blacks that should nto but all of it is not racism. There are other issues that race could have been a factor like not getting as good of job but many have the same problem and have not made bad decisions)
I don't actively believe in it, but am open to it. Because I deal with severe dysphoria over my body. I feel more like a woman than a man, and yet I have a dick. And by severe, I mean I have scars on my left arm from where I cut and burned myself because I haven't developed healthy coping skills when it hits me at it's worst. Hence why I'm transitioning in order to address something that's been an increasing problem for me all my life. I'm going to Manhattan in a few days to, hopefully, begin the process for my vaginoplasty.
But this is way easier for me than someone who, let's say identifies as genderfluid. I am only able to empathize with them in the dysphoria department. But that's it. Because my gender identity is within the binary, I can't really empathize with the stress of not understanding why my identity isn't male or female, because I don't experience it
But even though I don't actively believe in it, I believe in male and female only, I'm still open minded, willing to change my mind, and I'm respectful of people who ask me to call them xir, xe, they, them, or whatever they want me to call them, because all people within the transgender community have dysphoria in common, and would want them to accept me as female.
There are two sexes, with some very rare exceptions (see intersex), but there are many different genders.
Sex is determined by your chromosomes, XX or XY, in humans. Gender is part of our identity and social role, and although it usually aligns with our sex, they are distinct concepts. In short, sex is biological, gender is mental. People are either male or female, but people can be anywhere along the spectrum of masculinity and femininity.

No.
How about read the Family Medical dictionary. there are males and females, a nd unless you were born a Homorphrodite, you have no excuse for being "Transgender". If for whatever reason God created you as a Homorphrodite, then you can choose to do whatever you want with yourself, because that's how God created you. But only about 1 in 100 million people is born as a homorphrodite, so there's no excuse for several percent of the population becoming transsexuals. If you were born either male or female, then you are what God created you to be, and having a gender re-assignment operation is a disgrace to God, because you have violated what God created you to be. This is why the Old Testament contains a commandment against Cross-Dressing. Cross-dressing and homosexuality and any variation of this is considered an unpardonable sin in the Old Testament Law.
By the way, many christian false teachers incorrectly claim there is no such thing as an "unpardonable sin" which is clearly wrong, as both the Old and New testament of the Bible teach that some sins are worthy of physical death (and Hell) and therefore if a sin is considered worthy of physical death, then it is an unpardonable sin, this includes: rape, murder, purjury (in a capital trial), homosexuality, beastiality, blasphemy, witchcraft/satan worship, transsexualism, necromancy, divination (Horoscopes/tarot cards), and more... read the Law of Moses for more information.
The point is again, "No". There are only two Genders and anything else is a perversion/abomination.Back in high school, I read a study that confirm the existence of fifteen different genders, with the possibility of there being as many as 300, but that was only among a particular species of slime mold. With humans, you have two- well, if you want to be pedantic, three: male, female, and production error (Klinefelter's syndrome and such).
I have precious little involvement with social media (where these culture wars are fought), but some stuff drifts down even to me, and from what I've seen, the conflicts seem to come from people who don't feel they fit in the with the social expectations of the gender they have. That's what baffles me so much- it's all psychological. If it were a transexual gender dysphoria thing, I could sort of understand it, but this seems totally unrelated; this is the girl who loves playing soccer or the boy who loves making cupcakes thinking that those attributes mean they're not a girl and boy, respectively, but somehow something in between. You're not allowed to be called an X if you differ in the slightest degree from the standards of X.
When I was a kid, this was called "having a mind of your own"; now it's a personality disorder. Live the way you want to live, that's fine with me; but the attitude of biological determinism I find deeply troubling.I think there are only men and women.
I heard the most horrid story about gender and sex on a fascinating documentary. During a routine circumcision procedure on male twins, one of the twins' genitals were damaged. The parents decided with a doctor the little boy should undergo a sex change procedure at the age of 2, before he had much memory retention. Since he would grow up as a female, he would be a female right? Wrong.
The child grew up, in a female body, treated as a little girl - but always felt she was supposed to be a boy. Acted like a boy, had no female friends, disliked thinks girly and came out as a gay. I think this shows that our sex runs so much deeper than what our genitals are. Our brains are different.
Sadly the little girl was eventually told what should have happened and unfortunately committed suicide.
I think there is a spectrum, right, because some female athletes develop so much testosterone that their levels are on par with men, and there have been discussions about whether these women should be in the male category, as no female with typical female levels of testosterone could possibly keep up. After the fall of the Berlin wall, many female athletes who had been doping had sex changes to male. They had so much testosterone, despite their genitals, they were now male.
So I think there is absolutely tons of wiggle room, but I think there isn't more than one gender. It's fine if one wants to be more ambiguous, you see it all the time now, looking on the street, is that a man or a woman? But scientifically and psychologically, there are only two genders, regardless of how you choose to present yourself.Haven't voted either way because "kinda". There are two physical genders, that's pretty much indisputable. But the way people feel about their bodies and identity is important, and body dysmorphia is a real thing that exists, and people who've never suffered from it have a hard time believing that. If you've never been deaf, do you just not believe that deaf people exist?
A lot of opponents take the stance that transgender people etc are suffering from a mental illness. Fine, let's play along with those people. Post op trans people are around 90% less likely to suffer depression than pre op trans people (http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/827713). Medical science can only dream of an antidepressant that's 90% effective for the general population.
Transitioning saves lives. Trans acceptance is suicide prevention. The only reason not to do it is if the consequences are worse than the thing it prevents. Can you think of an actual, objective negative consequence to allowing somebody to live their own life?
Homosexuality was considered a mental illness not that long ago. We grew from that, and it turns out that society as a whole is better off when nobody goes out of their way to harm people in order to stop them doing something harmless.
You're right on one point - the debate has gone too far. It shouldn't even be a debate. Live and let live.I think it's very helpful to view gender as a spectrum. Of course, most people's experiences will be classed as male or female and this will usually agree with what they are born with in-between their legs.
But sometimes, people do not feel like their body matches their innate sense of gender identity. Or they will feel in-between male or female or will not feel male or female at all.
Just because we do not and cannot understand someone else's experiences does not mean that they are not real. If we want people to truly listen to us and our emotions and experiences, then we should listen to other people's.There are two genders.

Female = XX chromosomes
Male = XY chromosomes
That is the scientific fact.
Anything else is factually incorrect and delusional.IMHO, there are two genders. Anyone is free to identify as one or the other, or change from one to the other. If you wish to change how YOU identify every day or multiple times a day that is absolutely fine be me - it's YOUR business, and no one else's.
With that in mind, YOU do not have the right to TELL ME that one minute I call you Jim then in two hours or two days it's Jemima and that I have to refer to you (singular) as 'they'. I don't care what you wear, I don't care if you have multiple gender changes and I don't care with whom you sleep with (usual rules apply about age/consent etc). I don't have that right, just as you don't have the right to tell me what I can and can't say. If you transition, fine I will refer to you by your chosen name and use the appropriate pronoun, but if you're one of those people who think there are 97 different genders and you expect me to play along with it, you can Foxtrot Oscar! There are only 2 genders, male and female. There is no other gender I know of. There are men who like men, women who like women, men love women, and vise versa. When a male or female have a sex change, the only choose the opposite gender. I have yet to physically see this "Other" gender. In fact, when an application comes in and they mark "other", I call them in to finally see this "Other Gender" in person. Unfortunately, I only have discovered they lied on their application, they are a male or female gender.
Yeah, it's fun to pretend. but, after all the growing up is done, there are still only 2 genders. That will never change.
We should keep those other made-up genders in science fiction, where it belongs. It's pretty much like taking an invisible, untouchable object out of thin air and screening at people to believe it's existence.
Technically...
2 X chromosomes (or more) without any Ys = FEMALE
1 Y chromosomes (or more) = MALE
It's that simple, or one could just look between their legs. Gender is binary - making something else up and claiming is real is dumb. it's something a child would do, or someone with a mental illness.No.
There is male and female.
What else could there be?
There are only men and women.
Sure some men want to live their life as a woman and may take hormones to seem more feminine. That is still a man or a man living as a woman (and there are the opposite woman living as a man). That is still only 2 genders.
That is a man. That is one gender. If you address them as their new female name and treat them as a woman as they want then that is a woman. That is the second gender... one, two. This isn't a question that needs to be asked. Anyone with a brain, who has the ability to learn and retain information, knows that there are more than two genders:
Females = XX and males =XY. But is that always the case? Nope. Among humans, some people have two Xs and a Y ("XXY", see Klinefelter syndrome), or one X and two Ys (see XYY syndrome), and some individuals have three Xs or a single X instead of a double X ("X0", see Turner syndrome). There are other exceptions in which SRY is damaged (leading to an XY female), or copied to the X (leading to an XX male). https://www.who.int/genomics/gender/en/index1.htmlI don't believe in a distinction between gender and sex.
There are males and females, and in very rare cases hermaphrodites.
Other cases are body dysmorphic cases.
I don't condone attacking and shaming those who have these mental issues, but we should call them what they are: Mental illnesses. It's the refusal of accepting the body you were born in. No different than refusing to accept your ethnic background or other body parts.
I also don't believe in gender essentialism.
If you're a woman who likes activities that are stereo-typically associated as masculine, it DOES not mean you're a man. And Vice Versa. There are two sexes, male and female. Assume that those correspond to heterosexual behavior until otherwise noted. Gender is just another word for sex, that grammatically avoids sex as a verb.
Human sexual appetites have a nigh infinite spectrum to them and should be taken on as individual cases. The need for public awareness of sexual preference is minimal, unless in cases where you're looking for a partner. Trying to codify it beyond that point is pointless unless you're having fun or working on a psychology project on human sexuality.
Bathrooms should be divided by sex for biological reasons and the need for privacy. There is no need for legal recognition beyond sex binaries. Individuals with genetic and other disorders need no recognition nor extra rights beyond what everyone else has, unless handicap conditions apply.
The last thing any of us needs is more government intervention in our personal lives.Doesn't matter if someone is born a woman & decides they are really a man. Her genes are XX. She possess no Y. And thus she will never ever be male.
Doesn't matter if someone is born a man & decides they are really a woman. His genes are XY. He possess no doube X. And thus he will never ever be female.
Thus there are only two sexes. Everything else is a form of mental illness that is been increasingly lauded as normal/tolerable instead of treated properly. And having worked in medical a number of transgenders have previous mental issues (e. g. schizophrenia) so logically their belief is another mental illness just misdiagnosed or not diagnosed. Not at all! I’m not deluded like those who think otherwise. You’re either a man or a woman, whether you feel like one or not. If you wanna change your gender (physically), you can but you only have one other option. I don’t accept this “non-binary” crap! I’ll refer to them as “he” or “she”, and if they wanna cry about it like the imaginative children they are, then they can be my guest 😒
No, there isn't. It's just straight up delusion and just doesn't make sense. Anything else beyond female and male is fantasy for people who are biologically confused and need help. God is not the author of confusion.. that's the devil. He mocks, twists, and perverts and that is what's happening with the minds of the youth today.
That depends on how you define gender. I don't believe there's such thing as a sex that's inside of your head, snd by extension there cannot be 2 of something that there isn't even 1 of. But if you define it as a social construct, and considering how loose, arbitrary, and unrestricted social constructs can be, there could theoretically be a billion of them. But I'd still question the legitimacy of what they're supposed to stand for.
But that's not to say men can't dress and act feminine, it's just to say that doesn't make you a woman. It just makes you a feminine man.On planet Earth - No.
Maybe some alien species have three or more genders, but humans have only two.
Intersexuals are not a separate gender, they are people who have biological characteristics of both existing human genders (male and female).
Transexuals are also not a gender, they are people who believe they should "change their gender" - because they think they should have been born as the opposite gender.
In the future, science will advance, and enable humans to treat these genetic and hormonal disorders.- u
No. There is only "man" and "woman", "male" and "female", "he" and "she". Men are not women and vice versa. One cannot become the other. They are different in body, heart, mind, and soul. They each have different abilities, gifts, and talents and they each have different roles and responsibilities.
Ovaries are one and testicles are the other, 1 + 1 = 2. However, in the liberal contrived distortions of reality, any bizarre inkling is their reality. Let’s invent a new one just to throw them off balance if that is possible being they are already tilted.
