Why is breastfeeding in public frowned upon by so many people when it’s a natural thing? Should women be allowed to do it in public? Here is a link to a social experiment with breastfeeding.

When the baby is crying he's either wet or hungry...
We've all been there...
There's no shame and shouldn't be in breastfeeding a baby.
Leave the women to feed their babies... they're not doing anything obscene... they're just feeding their baby...
I bet that some of them don't even feel comfortable doing it in public... but they have to do it for their baby...

Absolutely it should be allowed. I think (and I put it into practice) that anyone who confronts a mother breastfeeding with condemnation should be publicly harangued and shamed. I've even called the cops on men and women who tried to shame breastfeeding moms, accusing them of sexual harassment.

But if that's the logic behind it-- that it's natural and needs to happen-- then why can't we do so many other things in polite company or public that are "natural?"

It's looked down upon just simply because of social norms... cleavage has been rather socially accepted throughout time. Sometimes a woman showing cleavage may be called "slutty", but it's still really common.
