No. It’s normal to work out that braiding your hair upside down will give the braid a different look. Just because it’s called that doesn’t mean it’s exclusively used by that group
I feel like the whole cultural appropriation thing is pure bs, some people nowadays just love being offended by everything, like just let people be and use whatever hairstyle or clothing they want, since when are we limiting and dictating how other people HAVE to look?
If a white person doing boxer braids is cultural appropriation, a black person turning on a light bulb is cultural appropriation, since it was created by a white man.
I agree with you. But technically the light bulb was invented by a both a black man (Lewis Latimer) and a white man who happened to get all the credit just sayin lol
@lovedejj_xo I thought he invented the telephone? If not I’ll be damned. in my opinion cultural appropriation is BS unless you’re, like, actually pretending to be another race. Every culture has borrowed something by another.
He did Both girl he did many great things. But agreed 100% once you pretend to be another race or “borrow” but change the name to erase it then that’s a problem. But I use to braid my best friends hair all the time in high school she’s white like who cares🤦🏽♀️
@lovedejj_xo I’m pretty sure Dutch means the typical search results if you google Dutch (those two braids on the side of your head or one single one) and I feel like saying that’s cultural appropriation is just spreading racism and not letting it die.
Yea I know what they are definitely agree! Only thing I struggle with is seeing all the lip injections that’s more of a better topic than hair that grows out your head and you style 🤦🏽♀️
@lovedejj_xo Yeah, though getting into surgery is more complicated. To be fair, lip injections do really help make you more attractive since a trait I see among Europeans is generally less-full lips. Though on the other end of the spectrum, I see a lot of Hispanics/Blacks getting nose jobs, to make it more European.
It's a fcking hairstyle, why does anyone care who uses it?
10yrs ago nobody ever heard of cultural appropriation, and now people are being judged for emulating the styles of other cultures? What the fck is wrong with you people?
Cultural appropriation is a damn made up term to try and get people to be pissed off at something else. This country has become a bunch of weak minded fools that don’t even know our own culture and history. Fricken shame.
Silk is cultural appropriation of China cotton fueled slavery in America. If you want to go down the stupid road you end up with no cloths and nothing because you didn't make anything so your appropriating anything you eat touch or wear unless you invented it yourself

Yes! How dare they steal that from the Romans who stole it from the Egyptians who stole it from Neanderthals.
Thats racist!
no its not the term ' cultural appropriation ' should just fucking die omg. ITS JUST A HAIRSTYLE LMAO
to add on, if cultural appropriation actually existed we are ALL appropriating multiple things so
Cultural appropriation is a concept create by needy, hyper-emotional, over-sensitive pussies who desperately seek for attention and drama.
well said
No it's not...
And now the important events of the day...
Sweden-South Korea 1-0
Belgium-Panama 3-0
Tunisia-England 1-2
:P
I am dutch and i am more offended by the fact people may think i would be upset for you wearing Dutch boxers then the fact you wear them.
Whoops mistook boxer for literal boxers, you mean hair braids right? That makes it even more silly.
No ! It’s called Dutch because German girls have worn them for a long time. It’s not as if they are corn rows..:
No. I did those braids before I knew how they are called. Hair its not cultural appropiation.
Cultural apropiation is. You are catholic but celebrate indian /muslim hollydays. Thats what I name cultural aporopiation.
I don't believe in the stupid concept of cultural appropriation.
Dutch braids , to what culture do they belong?
To the Dutch? In that case everyone can wear them 😅
Maybe we should start seeing things more in cultural appreciation instead of appropriation.
Wear what you want. There is no appropriation. If you like it wear it.

cultural appropriation is a nonsense term designed to control peoples thinking
I dont pay much attention to things so my opinion would be yes or no and possibly.
