In the western world at least, we have all adooted things from other cultures. I think that's a good thing. For example, almost all modern music is all based on Jazz and Blues. Blues and Gospal were created by black people, as were certain (and my favorite) types of Jazz. Slap bass was invented by Larry Graham, a black musician. Most bass players incorporate funk influences in their playing. Fine chefs incorporate flavors from all cultures. I think the term is usually used to describe white people adopting things that are traditionally black. Isn't that just an affirmation of black culture; it's quality and importance. Without black culture, we would be missing out on important forms of music, poetry, fashion... We'd have list great literature; even peanut butter. I think rather than be offended, we should see it as appteciation of other cultures. Who doesn't like a good beat or chinese food?
