What a horrible garbage of a so called human.
Yet, a man gets a 20 year-old sentence for stealing $600 of cigarettes. Or a couple that get 5-6 years for having sex on a public place.
That is some fucking bullshit court she should sue his ass and take this up to a federal court! Wtf is wrong with people in Alaska? Those judges reek of bias!! He should definitely get a long jail time! This poor girl needs some justice!! This Kangaroo court would never happen in any other state!

In an effort to provide full disclosure, I don’t think you mentioned he did spend a year under house arrest. that said, the judge needs to be removed from the bench and indicted. This is absolutely ridiculous. I had to read the story from three different sources to make sure it wasn’t biased. Schneider needs to be on the registry, he needs to be in prison and away from society for a good long while.
I don't see why a plea deal was offered here even assuming the victim didn't want to testify (which is understandable), much less a plea deal with no jail time and no requirement to register as a sex offender.

This decision wasn't made by a judge. It was settled by the DA.

The prosecutors had to except this deal and thus the woman had to too, so I guess it is fine. They may have been unsure of a conviction. Assuming he is guilty he should get a much longer sentence I'd say 7-10 years maybe the minimum for this case.
Couldn't he only really be charged with assault assault not rape, because rape requires penetration still?

Society is so fucked up. This is why I believe in capital punishment. Having a hick like that, even in jail or an asylum would make me feel less safe than if he were dead. Eye for eye, tooth for tooth. He could have potentially ruined the girl's entire life by psychologically traumatizing her. A crime of that level deserves death.

A judge has not much say once the prosecutor and defendant reach a plea.

Prosecutor had to stick to law, sounds like he slipped through loopholes, and the law needs to be adjusted. Not sexual assault because he didn't touch her in that way. Not kidnapping because he let her go. But it was assault and indecent exposure. But it was the lawyers choice to plea on the assault and indecent exposure. That is fishy
