Well, in the beginning of 2018 tess Thompson Talley (a trophy female hunter) shot a black giraffe in South Africa. And since then people started crazily arguing about her and calling her a "white American savage" Some claim that that giraffe was rare. But what she did was actually 100% legal. I don't think what she did was wrong. If this animal was so rare than it's wrong I would have to agree. But again it's not a very big mistake that she deserves to be blamed for. Also wild animals would have killed that giraffe anyway

so you said IF the animal was rare you might agree. will there is less than 95k giraffes in the world. i don't know what you call rare but they are considered a rare species
really the onus is on governments to make this type of hunting illegal but they don't due to greed. so then it's up to humans to make a subjective decision about right and wrong.

A giraffe is just mining its own business when a lion attacks it, is the lion wrong? The meat from these hunts goes to the local communities and money brought in is often the main economy.
I’m from a small town, everybody hunted and I got into it as well. Hunting is the closest to nature you can get, and hunters do more for wildlife protection than the dumbass treehuggers. Do not insult me off your personal opinion and lack of understanding of the subject

@Redstang88 there’s a difference between slaughtering an animal minding is own damn business in his own habitat and a manufacturing company who raises animals for that specific reason (to be eaten).

@Redstang88 farmed meat is different from killing animals in their habitat !!! We live in a day and age where we don’t need to hunt. God gave man the knowledge to open up grocery stores. That’s where you need to go if you’re gonna eat meat. You don’t go into it’s natural habitat to murder it.
"God" didn't give us shit. And I still cannot understand where you see this moral difference. Its killing an animal for meat, and on a side note hunting is much more humane than standard slaughter house practices. And what connection do have to their natural habitat? People have become so far removed from nature that they forget we are all still a part of it, like it or not.

Hmm but where does the store get the meat from? A slaughterhouse. Where animals are being tied and getting their head cutt off. An arrow or a bullet is way faster and more humain. That doesn't mean I don't go to the store and buy meat

I'd like to begin with a disclaimer: I'm not vegan, haha.
I don't necessarily care about whether or not she's guilty, as much as I care about whether or not what she did was wrong. Just because something is legal, doesn't mean it isn't bad. In this case, I believe killing any animal purely for the sport of it, is immoral. The animals may not be as intelligent as us human beings, but they can still feel. They let out cries when they're hurt. Their bodies sometimes have convulsions. Or the most obvious clue, they try to run away from any danger. Why? The same reason anyone would: Because we're scared. It may be legal, but it's still messed up to do.
And honestly, I don't see how the rarity of any animal makes it anymore ok :/ If I were to walk outside and kill a human being, no one would say, "Well, we still have a bunch of humans left in this world, so it's alright". Death is death, whether the species is endangered or not.

With all that said, I don't necessarily think that makes the woman a bad person. Good people make mistakes. No one is perfect. We all have our own ideals that go completely against another's. But it doesn't make us bad people. It makes us flawed as humans. And it makes us irrational. In every subject, someone is bound to be right and someone is bound to be wrong. Being wrong means you're either confused and/or uneducated. But that isn't an insult towards the woman, as we are all confused and uneducated regarding all sorts of matters. It's normal.
TLDR: This doesn't make her a bad person, but I believe what she did was wrong. I think she doesn't realize the immorality in her actions.
Why is it any different than deer hunting? Often wildlife populations are culled as conservationism and African wildlife preserves get funding from renting it out to wealthy foreigners
Like I personally wouldn't pay to do hunt a zebra, I only hunt for meat not trophies or non native invasive species like Burmese pythons or wild boars you can't kill enough of those. A friend told me that a few nile crocodiles were spotted in the Florida everglades so we might be hearing a lot about them in a few years.
Apparently. Probably escaped from a zoo or somebody was keeping them. The Florida everglades are infested with burmese pythons that somebody let free, they are small in number so far but one day may be in direct competition with our native alligators and crocodiles. You have to understand that in America, we consider animal life more precious than human life. Had she just shot another American, it would be no big deal.
Walking up to your dog and shooting it in the head isn't hunting and neither is driving up to a giraffe and shooting it. Hunting, real hunting, involves hunting for the animal, not walking up to it and killing it. Slaughtering a passive animal (like the family dog) for entertainment is nothing to be proud of.
