Are you/were you looking forward to being 18?

Couldn’t wait to turn 18 so I could tell my parents “GFY”, then I was like “wait... I still need these guys to pay for me for like four or five more years”, lmao
hell yea, when you are 18 in Europe, you can do whatever you want.
Yes, I would finally be able to make my own decisions and do whatever I please.
I was counting the days until my 18th birthday lol

I had already been in college for two years when I turned 18 so it was not a big deal to me.
That feels like a lifetime ago. Enjoy it! After you turn 18 your life starts to fly by
Our lives aren’t the same
Yeah it does cause we aren’t the same so don’t try to compare
It wasn't really something I looked forward to.
I'm looking forward to it because it's the next step in my life.
But it's kinda scary at the same time, I'm turning 18 next year, I don't know why it's scary- I and all my friends have talked about it (the 2002 babies :P) and we don't why it is.
But then again, turning 16 was also scary when I was 15, but it's not so bad. xD
Mhmm it’s not scary to me at all
Haha, all my friends and I agree on it is scary, really scary but we can't come up with a reason why "it just is". Maybe it's a UK thing lol. xD
Definitely sounds like an out of America thing
I was excited about turning 18. I moved out of my parents right away and got to take on the responsibility of full-on independence, which was something I always fantasized about.
Having the freedom to be spontaneous and embark on new adventures has been the best part of becoming an adult for me. :)
I was, I could finally buy alcohol legally and not have to stand outside a shop and ask people to get something for me 😂 but geez, it was almost 2 years ago now, feels like last week.
As for being legally an adult it makes basically no difference.
It makes no difference to you sure
All it meant for me is that I had to start paying for stuff that under 18s didn't have to pay for like medication and stuff. Otherwise I could drive, so for me getting my drivers license made me way freer, I could/can just go off in my car and go wherever with mates
No, not really. Nothing to look forward to. I'll have to pay full price for dentist and doctors appointments for one and I'd have lots of other things I'm now responsible for.
I get to drive, but to be honest I'd much rather take the bus my whole life to avoid accidents (I'm a nerve wreck already!), and spare the environment by taking public transport.
I'm not drinking either, so don't really get many privileges by turning 18
You have nothing to look forward to ok that’s you, I’m looking forward to lots of stuff
That's great! I really disliked turning 16 so 18 is probably gonna be worse for me. I'm a big "worrier", so that may be why. It's good you feel that way
I was pretty sad at my 18 birthday, I wasn't/am not ready for adult responsibilities I guess.
Are you American?
nope but 18 is legal age in here too, things are not so different
I didn’t care all that much tbh You get to bite and that’s about it
I can’t go out when I want to and stuff cause I’m not 18
At this point I’m looking forward to 6 months from now when I turn 21 not because I can legally drink, but because I can then go to truck driving school
Not really. Not too much going to change. I only have to pay a lot more.
So you have freedom to do as you please now?
How did I miss this question
Must of been sick
But I can't wait to turn 18
Its going to be mad awesome lol
I didn't care, I was still in high school, so no change there whatsoever.
I did look forward to it before I was 18 but after you get older you realize it's not really that special.
It’ll be special to me
Yes - it was great becoming 18 and then 21. After 21, no excitement in getting older
No. To me nothing changed when I became 18 or 19 for that matter.
I through drinking alcohol in USA is 21 . My 18 birthday we went to new York. couldn't drink part from soda. it good.
I was looking forward to turning 18 and becoming an adventurer, but then I took an arrow to the knee.
Oh cool, I can smoke and I can vote. Compared to actually creating shit and making a profit it means nothing.
I did, but now that it has already happened, it wasn't all it was made out to be.
Yes, I was.
How stupid I was to think being an adult was better.
Poor you
I was just because the last 3/4 of 17 was reealllly bad and I just wanted to get away from it.
I was really looking forward to it.
Nah. I didn’t really care.
Why not? Are you American?
Well I personally will have more freedom and a lot of fun parties require people to be 18 so yeah
I was, then afterward felt it was no big deal.
I'm indifferent about my age.
No it was a normal day to me.
No I was not,
Meh, 19 was better because then I could buy booze
Yes!!
Not really.
What about 20?
I'm just not big about celebrating my birthday, in my family we used to treat birthdays like any other day.
No...
not really
