What do you think they stand for?
Do you think they're a good/bad thing?
What laws do you think if any should surround them? E. g. Banning or forcing women to wear them.
Security of all citizen goes first than free of religion. Personally a stranger with full face covered, regardless of if it's with religious clothes or it's winter clothes, or any urban clothes... cause me distrust.
Face shouldn't be covered in certain places due to security measures. In the rest of places it shouldn't really be banned or forced. Still I don't understand why any sane woman would wear a burka, beign brainwashed is the only reason I find to choose something that uncomfortable. Hijab is nice though, and it's beutiful when they choose colorful designs.
I personally think covering hair is a reasonable religious thing. But covering the face is going too far.
Are you a Muslim
Well, Is there covering hair in Christianity?
Is it mandatory?
Are you a Christian?
Are you an atheist
Okay, I am a Muslim
My only issue is as follows.
Certain non religious headwear is banned in certain places for safety reasons. For example motorbike helmets in petrol stations. This is so that if someone does steal something cameras can catch them.
Yet , most people who support burqas etc expect special treatment to be given in these circumstances. I don't think that should be the case.
You should have the ability to wear it if it your choice, but just because it's religious doesn't give you better rights than other concealing headwear.
The Hijab& chador are fine but women wearing niqab and burkas should be banned from airports, government buildings, bus stations, railway stations, schools, malls, shops etc for public safety.
Bro... I’m praying for you. This is ridiculous
It can't be compared to nuns. Nuns are part of the church institution and live in a monastery, this not the case for muslims.
@esotericstory... what happens to a nun when she decides not to wear her habit?

You've asked for the opinions about a sensitive topic and I suppose some may seem offensive, including mine, but here it goes:
Personally, I think none of the four clothing styles (burka, niqab, chador or hijab) have any place in the Western societies. It is the same as when Western women go to certain Muslim countries, they are expected to cover their heads and parts of their body which is acceptable because such are the local customs and traditions. Also Western men have to respect many local traditions regarding our interaction with Muslim women when visiting a Muslim country or it can end up badly for us. So should the Western standards be enforced in Western countries.
When Muslim women wear burka or niqab in the West, they look totally alien and to a certain degree even irritating. Why? Because in the West people are historically used to seeing everyone's face - it is probably the most important feature here - as well as open arms and legs if it is warm enough. It has nothing to do with being "promiscuous" or "easy" or "sexualisation of women" as some put it, but rather with different beauty standards that keep changing. A woman wearing a burka looks unclean and unkempt and in hot summer days you cannot feel anything but sorry for her. On top of that, there is the general opinion that Muslim women are forced to keep themselves hidden which I understand is often not the case. The current terrorist attacks and the involvement of female suicide bombers in various countries has not helped the Western societies to warm up to such clothing.
As I am living in the West, I would rather not see any kind of non-Western clothing unless for festivals. As they say: "When in Rome, do as the Romans do". By living like the locals do, it automatically reduces a lot of tensions and make the society you are in far more welcoming. Otherwise I honestly see no reason what Muslim women and men who wear their traditional clothing and adhere to strict Islamic schools and laws even do in Western countries.
As I am not living in a Muslim country, I cannot comment on the situation there.
I personally can see many ups and downs to this... I myself am not religious so I do not understand the religious aspects of clothing however I can see how the burqa can be a security risk if they can not identify the person wearing it... My other opinion is if you are in a different country then they aren't as understanding and it can cause unsettlement due to the fact once again if you were to have a situation involving a person in a burqa you wouldn't be able to describe what they look like which is what the police would basically need
If women want to wear then they should wear it.
I personally think it is unhealthy to cover your legs as vitamin D is poorly absorbed by face and arms. Its very important to have good levels of vitamin D, and covering from the sun won't help.
Also my husband works with a woman who always wore a hijab and when it was 38°c she took it off, it makes me think are the women in really hot countries comfortable with so much clothing?
But people shouldn't come up to the street and tell me to cover up because I look like a certain religion... ._. I've had that happen many times and I find it extremely rude.
Its okay thank you lol :-)
Doesn’t bother me, it’s just religious garb. Same as Hasidic Jews I see walking around in wool suits in Brooklyn in the middle of July, or if I see catholic nuns walking around in their habits. I see women in these every day in some of the supermarkets my job takes me too. They’re just food shopping like anyone else. Sometimes they smile and say hello when they pass me. I don’t just assume they’re walking up all strapped up with a suicide bomb, that’s ignorant, lmao. I don’t assume when I see a priest that I’m going to get molested... and I had priest as a high school teacher who actually molested people! I’m still at ‘0’ for number of Islamic women I’ve met who went on to blow up Logan Airport or Faneuil Hall. I guess I have my thoughts about the role and treatment of women in Islamic culture, but nothing in the universe is my business until it directly affects me, so I just can’t trip about all that.
As long as thry are a womens personal choice i dont see a problem. 1&2 are ok but 3&4 naturally should be ilegal in public buildings and airports and should have to remove them when demanded by police. Like you can't walk around an airport wearing a motorcycle helmet so girl as should be no different.
I am not in favour on burqas and niqabs for practical reasons; one cannot see the face. I have no problems with hijabs and chadors.
That being said, it is their choice what they choose.
Burqas and niqabs should NOT be permitted in places where safety or security may be an issue, such as airports, banks or government buildings.
They say accept all body types and most of them agree with it.
Same way, why not accept their dressing choices?
Nothing should be forced, neither wearing them nor removing them.

When you buy groceries, or eat from a restaurant or send your kid to a school, the store keeper, the waiter, the school bus driver, the teacher can be anyone from any religion. He can be a Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Buddhist or Jew.
You don't differentiate then, why now?

The chocolate you're eating now, the bag of chips on the table might be packed by the person of any religion, do you know who? NO! Yet you have it. Why? Because the religion isn't written on every commodity you buy.
So live in Harmony.

I'm fine with the two to the left. The two to the right is masking your face and that is reserved for cold winter weather, when the wind bites. The most infamous prison break in Denmark was a girl in burka visiting a prisoner and he took the burka and ran. The girl couldn't be held and was released.
My father comes from a Muslim family, and his family always opposed niqabs and even hijab. Personally, I think hijabs are fine as long as you can make out a person’s features! Burqas are no different from masks. You can never know who’s under them and what they’re up to. No offense meant, but it’s absolutely ridiculous!
I am fine with the first two, that leave the face visible. If they want to wear those, I don't care.
But the other two, Niqab and Burka, I really dislike. I dont want to live in a world, where you can't even distinguish the people around you anymore.
Wear it if you want. I usually hear the women who wear them say they want to wear them. It’s everyone else that seems to jump on the, this is discrimination bandwagon.
I feel bad for the people I see wearing anything like that in western countries. I’m sure they get idiots harassing them and yelling hateful ignorant things. It’s embarrassing to be a human sometimes.
The last one looks scary and isn't a compulsion at all.
They all look good. I must say, live and let live. If someone feels comfortable, they should continue wearing it and no one else should have a problem. Islam only promotes modesty in whichever way.
My opinion on them is that people should have the freedom to wear whatever they want and that includes these as long as they're worn by the womens on free will and from what i've heard many women do wear them out of free will. If that's true or not I don't know but if it is then fine.
Burqas can of course be problematic though as you cannot see their identity.
here's my two cents on topic. I dont really care about them, butif you go to country that has no traditions of wearing them, be deamed if you weare them and then scream of human rights. There are plenty muslim states that ban alcahol, sex and biki. Somehow tourists in thouse countries are expected to follow customs. Then you must follow to our customs.
I don't feel any way about them other than they are the head covering that a religious group wears. I don't seem them good or bad.
Deem*
Symbol of the religion of evil. Should be banned from any civilized society, along with islam and muslims.
The society doesn’t need wankers like you roaming around. Why don’t you just cut your wrist? Now that would be a huge step for all of mankind.
@UI_Vegeta01
Why don't you detonate yourself somewhere instead?
Why don’t you come up with something new? Brainlet.
@UI_Vegeta01
Visit Syria so you can catch one of our rockets. At least your existence will be useful as a target practice for us.
Cheers :-*
Are you faggot? Use that kiss emoji on your dad. Oh I almost forgot, fathers are as rare as a functioning brain in America. And why doesn't the government take those missiles and use it on the mass shooters in America. You might be a mass shooter as well. All white people are mental anyway. Don't go around bombing other countries with minimal terrorists where as your own country has like a million terrorists. Stupid shit like you don't even deserve an internet connection. Cheers faggot.
@UI_Vegeta01
America? That's other side of a planet.
> All white people are mental anyway
> Stupid shit like you don't even deserve an internet connection
Now I wonder who invented internet. Probably muslims or non-whites; I wonder if they wrote it into their retarded book as well already, along with already stolen pagan and abrahamic rites.
Shites like your kind don't deserve it; stay in your shitholes.
Oh so you are from Russia? Then you are basically a retarded version of an American. I am surprised that Russia even has internet. You guys probably stay under the snow all year and fuck your pets. Yeah you don't have to repeat what I said mate, white's are mental and you don't deserve an internet connection. Doesn't matter how created the internet faggot, non whites and Muslims created a lot of better things than the internet. Internet is a breeding ground for losers like you so it shouldn't have been invented in the first place. And yeah what has happened has happened, the whites invented it but we are all enjoying it now. They are basically a slave who gave us unlimited entertainment. You are probably an atheist retard who doesn't contribute anything to society. You are a parasite. What don't we deserve? We have everything. Now be a good little dog and go back to your mommy's womb. Trust me, the world would be a better place that way. And yeah one last thing, if I ever become a leader of a strong nation then I won't forget to nuke the shit out of your shit hole country.
And yeah I ain't replying to your bullshit anymore. You are not worth anyone's time. Don't want to see your face again on this site.
@UI_Vegeta01
> I am surprised that Russia even has internet
Totally; I mean, we created radio & went to space while you were riding donkeys, obviously we don't have internet :D
> non whites and Muslims created a lot of better things than the internet
Such as?
> if I ever become a leader of a strong nation
Such as?
> then I won't forget to nuke
Considering we have the best AA systems and now we have upgraded Sarmat (google up "Satan 2"), there's a strong possibility of getting rekt in return :D
> You are probably an atheist
Indeed I am; tell me how you contribute to the society though :D
Don't disappear though, I love morons like you: you're entertaining.
Arab women wore burqa because their country have what it called like flying sand.. during windy sand? duh I don't know what was that... but then because they always wore that to avoid from sands, and sunlight. but then it because a trend for some Muslim non Arab to wear that. they don't know why Arab women wore that. hmm
I dont care about them much, if people want to wear it then let them, however if a government/society wants to restrict its peoples choice of clothing then I oppose that government/society.
From left to right it looks like a progressing game of "you can't see me"
I respect the culture and admire the discipline it takes to wear them
