How are you doing more by sitting on your ass watching tv. I hear this a lot from bitches say this or my gaming friends say their gf/wives won't let them play. At least in a game you are not passive. They have better stories than the repeated shit out of hollyweird. What gives with all the self righteousness I am better than a lazy gamer cause i sit slack jaw watching tv.
I love it when i hear a woman say how lazy and stupid gamers are. It is always some fat ass. I say I game... am I lazy and stupid. Of course they stfu. Because i am always fitter and thinner than the fat ass calling gamers names. Sorry just needed to vent.
I can relate. My old friends use to think i had issues. Use to pc game a lot but found i literally neglected my needs lol... okay... id stay in one spot of the sofa till when i got up there was a imprint of me from sweat! I wouldn't eat id just drink coffee. smoke cig. and play hours. When i know my needs are to workout or ill get grumpy.. go outdoors or ill get restless. Sometimes gaming to me is the most cost efficient when im unemployed vs spending 75 on getting my nails done with a friend then going to bar getting drunk then to piss it out my money or vomit it out lol. I dated 2 gamers in my lifetime they were both so different in relationships. One did that right after work while the other had some balance to it. He would game after work for a certain amount of time then suddenly suggest we go out to town to meet friends or date night. I also played but not as intensely when im in a relationship. if a gamer isn't neglecting other aspects of his chosen life then not lazy!

Because the stereotypical gamer that is portrayed on tv or online tend to be overweight or lazy. So people instantly assume all gamers are fat, lazyasses.
I'm a gamer and it shocks the heck out of people because I don't look or behave like the typical gamer. I exercise regularly, am active, eat healthy... yet I'll stay until until midnight slaying bosses for loot, LOL

The cold hard truth is... gaming has been niche for a long time in modern society, while TV / movies has always been mainstream and "the norm".
Yes, video games are more mentally beneficial than TV/movies in many ways (problem solving, reading maps/navigation, strategy, collaboration with teammates, manipulation of systems, quick "on your feet" thinking, reflexes, etc.)
Regardless of the benefits of video game playing... that is why binge watching TV and movies doesn't have the stigma on it like it should. TV and movies are "normal". Everyone does it. It takes zero skill to watch TV so there is no barrier of entry.
Most importantly, people casually talk about TV and movies; they are at the epicenter of popular culture. So the FOMO (fear of missing out ) of not being able to join in the culture and conversation around TV and movies in casual settings is also a factor.
Everything is comparable, gaming is more active than watching TV, but it's less active than many outside the house type of hobbies, also the same wives who are not happy about a husband gaming hobby, would likely be more unhappy if they found out that he is going to a strip club instead. There is also the fact that when a wife is not into gaming that she is not going to find it interesting, while she might watch TV with her husband, but on the other hand, men and women tend to have different preferences in movies as well.
Then why not just load up twitch and show them how many girls game and are in better shape than they are 😂. They are fragile bubble full off delusion and illusions and one day that bubble will burst and they will freak out.
I understand your need to vent, I have some friends that dislike talking about their gaming because they are afraid of getting mocked and judged. The only reason I can think of besides basic stereotyping, is that some people are just making fun of something they don't understand. Like they don't understand why people enjoy gaming as much as they like their tv shows or movies. That is just my take though.
I feel like it is because it is something they are not into. Soif they dont like itthen they do t want their man to do it. Just like motorcycles. I have assholes try to shame me because they knew someonewho diedon a motorcycle. I can tell they want the sympathy for it but i just say i had two friend skilled in a car wreck
Because when it comes to gaming unless she is playing as well girls feel neglected. They seem to need attention all the time. W a movie they’re both enjoying it together. Don’t get why so many women constantly need attention. Some men do too yes. So if it’s not about them then they don’t like it.

what games you been playing? it's been awhile since i gamed (pc and console) im unemployed and WoW friends are gone lol. I've been wanting to olay overwatch but laptop might no be able to hold up.
@muliebrity I like playing a lot of military games on Xbox one. Love playing Left 4 Dead which was originally XBox 360 but once they made it backwards compatible always been my favorite freaking game. Just arun n gun shoot em up zombie game.

Yeah exactly!! well due to some financial hiccups i sold my gaming pc. playstation. The last game I played was life is strange and Detroit becoming human. The other one red redemption on ps4. Now for xbox the last game i played was final fantasy xv

Yes but rpg have a story and a better story than tv and movies. All they do is remake movies now or use the same storylines over. Witcher and mass effect even have books

Sure, there are some gamers that are lazy and never want to do anything but there are still a good amount of gamers that are active as well. Thanks to VR these days you can play some games and still move around a good bit. I mean shoot, you have esport players (Video game competitive players) who make millions of dollars from said video games and most aren't fat. The ones that are tend to be American.
I myself am a gamer and I workout 5 times a week with a 2 day break, get my real life stuff done, and still have some time to game.
Yeah, I'd like to see those that don't play video games play Beat Saber. I doubt majority of them coudln't even last 1 second at the part of this song when it picks up.
I would never call a gamer lazy or stupid, that's a pretty rude generalisation. But I can see where the stereotype comes from. It's exactly how the typical shitty boyfriend is portrayed. Drinks too much beer, doesn't exercise, is rude to people, never works or studies, just wastes money on gaming.
But like I said that's just a generalisation, that I really don't agree with. I mean, I don't really game but one of the smartest guys I ever know, a hot computer science genius, gamed all the time so there you go.
As a gamer myself, that is the reason why when I go to gaming events, I dress like I'm going out to a bar or a club. I make sure I look fly and properly groomed.
Why? Because I want to do my best to help dispel that "ugly smelly grimey unkept antisocial gamer" stereotype the best I can. 🙃

Many people have a wrong notion about the effects of gaming in one's life but they also forget that if a person games in constrained amount of times. He is probably training his brain more to be better than the guy who isn't playing video games.
Because they sit down staring at a tv all day. I think it's bad if gamers don't ha e balance in their life and actually just stay in and play games all day. But if they have balance and have other activities in their life, i don't seen gaming to be lazy at all

Haha yeah. People don't understand that they're sitting and watching Netflix all night eating snacks. Cognitively they're lazier than us. Whilst they're doing That, our bodies are being taken through a rollercoaster of cognitive and physical rides. The effects of video games on our bodies are very interesting. You should look into it.

I think it's because you spend all your time accruing virtual accomplishments. And after you shut off the game system what have you accomplished? Just X amount of hours of your life burned Just think you could have spent that time going to school, leaening a new skill, that increases your standing in the world. Because one day you're going to die and all that is going to matter :::::: he said dripping with sarcasm:::::: In other words live your life how you wish, it's no ones business as long as you handle your responsibilities.
Are you asking me specifically? In what area? Because reaching the qtr. Million dollar mark was probably my greatest accomplishment to date. But i'm weird my goals aren't in line with most people. That's why i don' criticize gamers. He who dies with the most swag still dies.
If anything you do more and gain more gaming, than just sitting by a TV and staring at it like a zombie. Watching TV takes zero skill, gaming takes sone to a lot of skill to play. So these people just love to hate. Just because you don't understand it, don't mean it's stupid. Whatever put a smile on someone's faces, is good enough for me.
I guess the idea that we just sit on our butts all day doing nothing but using our fingers to make pretty pictures move means we're lazier than other people. Though I think it's total crap too. I may not be the fittest person around, but I know I'm a lot better of than some of these people who yell about how video games are bad for people.
that's weird. I guess it's just a stereotype from silly movies where someone games and smokes all day or something, but obviously LOTS of people game and a lot of them are super productive and work and have other hobbies so i think it's just an old stereotype.
a lot of gamers are lazy, i don't think people necessarily associate the two as much as you think. Like all things, gaminv is good in moderation but it's VERY easy to get addicted and sit on your ass all day which is in turn lazy. I know YOU might not be a lazy gamer, but you're part of a minority, me included.
I actually don't game that much, some mornings I don't even feel like watching TV or a movie. I get up, get ready for work, eat, maybe jog if I feel like it, or go to the library for a bit before I go to work, or jog to the store real quick if I need something. Before I know it, there's no time to turn the TV on.
Because there is a stereotype that gamers are just trying to relive childhood and refuse to grow up. I am a gamer (not hardcore) and I am waaaaaaaaaay more mature than most people my age and have even served in the military.
I don't have a problem unless he's on it for 6-8hrs a day... sometimes ALL day. Yes he is lazy, he doesn't clean, help his dad w housework and house up keeps. He expects that i sit here watching him play w his friends, only talks to me during breaks and sometimes wants to have sex after gaming.
Wish he would just set a date or two to play only. Like only Monday and Wednesday nights. Not every single freaking night. God forbid tho if I'm on my phone for a bit or watch a movie🙄
The information could be coming from first-world countries or the participants could be of a specific age, social/socio-economic group or industry. No woman I've ever known has tried to take away my right to play video games. I've only had to make time to complete other tasks.
No one has complained about how much I game. My only complaint was about my skill a couple of years ago because the girl was going through her first break-up with her high-school sweetheart.
I'm that weird mix of a gamer/otaku and a hard gym goer (currently going 6 times a week for strength and muscle training) Like I can be lazy af, but on the other hand I am reasonably fit and somewhat strong at the same time

which is always great to put on a resume when applying for real jobs. I play video games for a living. yeah because every boss/employer wants to hear that. they could get off their butts and develop a new skill or learn a new language or do something useful that would make the world a better place
@RobLovesDemi1234 If they're making $1,000+ a month gaming why exactly would they be looking for another job? If they were then it would be with a game design firm as a game tester in which case having it on your resume is a good thing.
I do get annoyed by people who condemn gaming because it's a waste of time but also watch movies all day... I don't even play video games as much as I used to because of work and I don't have as many people to play with now.
No idea honestly especially since games nowadays are so complex in their function that it requires more critical thinking and more adequate response time.
I don't know why they think that but I do know one guy who worked 3 months straight so he can get the Borderlands 3 diamond edition that's not lazy to me
I think it is very good as its proven there a benefits associated with gaming. Once that person is not playing 24/7, gaining weight, no exercise or no social interaction.

Gamers are lame and lazy. Personally im too busy at the gym and riding motorcycles and rock climbing and traveling to play silly games. But digital aliens and blaster rifles are never going to be cooler than actually doing something productive.
