Uhh... yeah no, read about Kalief Browder's story. His is not a unique story. And out of all the countries on the planet, the U. S. alone has a whopping 25% of all prisoners worldwide. But no it's sad if you think he would deserve such horrible things done to him for just being a black male no more than 3 years older than you when incarcerated.

Well he was charged with robbery and assault. He couldnt be bailed out as he had previous case still going on. It was an unfortunate situation and shouldn't happen. He was one of the innocents who suffered and thats sad. What matters is that he was one of the few incidents.
But i did say that we're talking about prisoners around the world, yet yiu gave me an example of US. Which kind of well isn't a good example...

studies can't prove something related to morals. morals are different for everyone.
If something is prohibited then its prohibited for a good reason. If you get life sentence then it is for a good reason.
Now onto why i believe that it is a rare case, it is so because people wouldn't believe in government and police if it wasn't. If innocent people got a life time imprisonment then sure as hell people would be rebellious and angry witb their country, which any self respecting government simply can't allow, thus they need to give people the feeling that theyre righteous so they imprison those who deserve it.
Jay you are very naive. I don't usually like bringing age into things but you are 15 so at least that gives you a bit of a pass at the moment. I hope in the future you can look more into the lives of some prisoners and also look into other things etc related to prisons and the system, see things as less black and white, and also work on your empathy towards others, a lot that had not grown up in good environments or had things handed to them.
Nobody deserves rape, it is a very tramatising and life altering experience. It doesn't excuse their actions but rapists that had been molested when they were young etc, it's a bad cycle and putting prisoners through that, especially a lot of the ones that have already been through a lot or have not commited a more extreme crime, will only have negative effects downd the line.
you're thinking of it as a fkn butterfly effect dear lord. Butterfly effect does not exist. It is not definite. Bad childhood doesn't stop someone from changing. So saying that rape is a circle because rapists wereraped is a shit excuse. They should know how bad rape is and thus avoiding it at all costs. So your logic is flawed.
My logic, as in who should be out under the current prison treatment, is based on a world where there are no false accusations so no person goes to prison for something they haven't done. Idealistic world indeed, but it would work.
Your logic is based on the situation that most people who are imprisoned shouldn't be in prison. In that world, rape shouldn't indeed be a part of prison life. But as people have tried and failed to change it, i do believe that such thing should be left as it is.
Like I said, you'll inform yourself more over time, it's not excusing anything, I'd reccomend looking into criminal psychology etc as well as everything else. Your logic is based on a world that is not currently reality.

No, mine is based in reality, which is why I can so easily disagree with thinking everyone in prison deserves rape. It'd be nice if we lived in a world more black and white in the prisoner aspect, where everyone there has done some abominable thing and even after looking into all aspects of the situation would be a danger to society or something, but that is unfortunately not the case. It just isn't the current reality, it'd take a lot of work on a lot of different parts of society to get to that point.
