It would probably reduce rapes some. I haven't seen numbers on the number of rapes that are prevented by gun owners. I don't know how significant it is. I do know that guns prevent and deter a large number of crimes in general, but I don't know specifically about rape.

Rape is not something that stops when guns are gone, Actually most violent rape victims are raped at knife point not gun. or are assaulted by a gang and held down by multiple people.

Guns are also super easy to get illegally since they are all over, I doubt a gun ban would do good, legal owners won't be able to defend themselves very much while illegal owners have free reign.
