Guy asking me to go skating? Is he thinking date or not?

So, in one class this semester I made 2 guy friends. We're getting together to do a project. When texting one guy about it, he asked if I wanted to go skating Thursday or friday. I brought up skating and how I wanted to go, but it wasn't an invitation. I've had this idea that this guy may be interested in me. Is this his way of asking me out? I just got out of a relationship and still have feelings for this other guy. I do not want it to be a date. I don't really want to go alone with him, but would like to go skating with him and, say, the other guy also. I don't want to hurt him either. So what do I say? Thanks!

So I answered him with: Sure, if it's as friends. We can also ask y if he wants to come along. Sounds like a great idea. Is the ice still good? He answered: indoors :P So, I am kinda scared it'll be awkward or I'll feel like he's trying to get me.

It could be that this guy just wants to be friendly, but if he likes you he could be asking you to go skating as a way to hang out socially together, rather than straight away asking you on a date which is more risky...I would keep it light and fun, say sure you'd love to, is (other project guy) coming along too? Or ask if you could bring your friend too...that way it's less intimate and not a date. :)

Thank you! Most of my friends don't skate. :/ XD I think I'll just go and wish the other guy would come too. Heehee.

lol, maybe its a good time for your friends to learn, you'll be more relaxed with more people you know there. And go ahead and ask the other guy to come along as well. But I don't think you should feel worried that it'll be awkward, as long as you're having fun there's no pressure, but if he starts chasing you around the ice rink then maybe just trip him up :P
