McKamey manor are US's most intense haunted house tourist attraction and it's ca. 20 000 people waiting to visit it. It's controversial because of it's considered harmful. You've to have a doctor's letter confirming you're in good health physically and psychologically, sign a 40 paged waiver, be 21+ years old and pass a fitness test. What I find interesting about this is people don’t think ghosts exist or that their not harmful, or a bunch of other conclusions as to what they are from hallucinations to the spirits of loved one passed on.
If all of that were so, why the need for all those tests and things checked off? Publicity stunt? I don’t think so. Plenty of people would say: “screw it, too much work.” Would work against them selling entrance into the house.
Obviously they don’t want to be sued after the fact and obviously they know there is something evil that is in that house. Evil in the form of supernatural activity that could prove very harmful.
I’ve long supposed that ghosts are demonic activity. I don’t believe human souls remain on the earth after death. I believe they immediately go to Heaven or Hell after death. I believe we all will be resurrected, some to eternal life, some to eternal judgement.
In any case if my theory is wrong, why so often is a sense of dread, darkness, and coldness often associated with paranormal activity? Why would anyone want to fool around with the unknown?
It should be illegal except to licensed investigators who are there to document things.
Scripture has already told us abundantly what is in the after life. Naturally Satan would love to cause doubt about scripture by making an apparition of your dead grandpa appear. One of the first things Satan did in scripture was call God a liar when he told Eve she would not die if she ate the fruit when God said she would and death entered the human race at that point.
it condnes everything to the exteam except rape which i think is what is next if it is nt stopped as rape is a fear both men and wmen have and the 20 k they give to people is an incentive to be more brutal.

Lol funny you mention this, I'm just thinking about it right now. I'm watching YouTube videos about it, since you introduced me to the concept. If anyone doesn't know, the waiver says they might extract your teeth without anesthesia, give you a tattoo, remove your nails from your nailbeds, drown you, force you to eat bugs, and that a "potential side effect" may be "death". There's also no safe word to opt out. The owner of McKamey Manor laughed in a video by The Guardian about how someone had a heart attack in the Manor. He said it was "good shit."
As for your question, I really don't know. The people who sign the waiver to be admitted to McKamey Manor clearly have some sort of mental problem, & if I'm not mistaken, mental problems can invalidate a waiver. Yes, participants apparently must get a physician to submit a letter saying that they're in good psychological health, but those are pretty crappy physicians. That's like saying someone's in good psychological health even if they want to commit suicide.
Here's a better analogy: If a person wants to cut themselves, they're automatically seen as mentally unstable. Shouldn't that also be the case for someone who wants someone else to drown them & rip their nails off, without even a "safe word" being available? This mental instability should invalidate a waiver.
There is a safe word but I have heard that sometimes it takes a lot of time for the "actors" to react to it. Hence noone has ever gotten to the end. I suppose that people who actually go there do not really understand what they are signing up to.

I had 4 teeth pulled and they gave me some sort of anesthesia but my medication I take interfered with it so I felt the whole thing or at least most of the pain and I was awake during the process. You would have to be crazy to agree to that
I'm kind of torn on this, I mean, obviously people who organise this and the actors who work there must have some serious mental issues but people sign up for it themselves, if they really wan that so I giess let the crazies have it? Although 20k is not enough if you risk dying, even just new teeth implants might cost you more.

From the waiver alone it should be illegal. I saw a post about this earlier today and I was horrified by what i read. How anyone agrees is beyond me. Also, how is it legal to pull someone's teeth out without anesthesia and without an actual reason for it? Even with that waiver signed? As far as I can tell, this 'attraction' will absolutely kill people and nothing is done to stop it.
Hm, i guess these people and especially those who willingly go there are total nuts. I would close that place down, if i could and send anyone to some mental hospital to check on them... preferable never let them out.
You quite literally cannot legally consent to assault. Things like boxing or mma are illegal in a backyard even if agreed to (they must be sanctioned).
Anyway saying “should it be illegal” isn’t quite the right question. Illegal things are illegal and legal things aren’t. There are no special laws needed for them.
My problem with places like this has nothing to do with legality. It bills itself as a haunted house type thing, when it is nothing of the sort.
It is simply a string of psychological torturings. This is most likely as a result of it being harder and harder to get the desired fear responses as our society becomes more and more desensitised to horror.
But if people want that, everyone is consenting, who am I to get in the way.
Im torn on this, obviously these people know what they're getting into but in the video I saw even after they had finished I didn't see a drastic change in their attitude. I certianly think they should at least have a trained professional their to asses their mental condition after.
No because its your choice to enter it, the government is not your parents, its not your father or mother or guardian, its not their to tell you what you can and cannot do, your an adult that's YOUR job.
Because its garbage. Its literally the most stupidist thing I've seen. These people signing a waiver to be brutalized and put in shock and fear. No thank you.
