If he brags a lot?

My guy friend specifically only tells me about how much he spends on things or how much he makes down to the very penny. He does NOT mention details to anyone else at all! Even if they ask - he'll just say " a lot." He has even so much as used a calculator in front of me to show the thousands of dollars that he has spent. Here's the funny thing...he's not arrogant about it at all. I mean he doesn't do it to make me feel like crap although once he did. He joked that he didn't and doesn't shop at one particular (avg) store and when I retorted with I KNOW! I'm just mentioning the place! He felt REALLY bad and backpeddled saying he really does shop there, that he shops anywhere. He was just joking and didn't want to sound like a snob. I have no CLUE as to why he does it. I find him to be a GREAT guy with a GREAT personality! When he tells me these things, I usually look at him like he's crazy. Does he honestly think I'm not impressed with HIM?! He's always saying that he's fat, ugly, and/or old. I disagree with all of those things. I even asked me out 8 months ago but he said no. It got to the point that I stopped talking to him for awhile. When I came back, he was super happy to see me and started doing this stuff. Is this his way of hitting on me? Is he trying to impress me? I'm so confused.

Also, to you guys out there...do you like a girl if you get jealous if she is talking to another guy friend? To me, if you didn't like her, you wouldn't care, right?But to get very obviously snippy or, very very quiet, it makes me wonder.

The money thing = he's more comfortable with you than anyone else. That's why he can open up to financial details. Either that, or he just figured 'f*ck it she's not gonna open her mouth to anyone about it anyway. I trust her'.

The shopping place = I don't know, probably just a joke or maybe he just didn't want to hurt your feelings or tick you off.

When you left and came back = yeah, he missed you, so he was happy to see you again. I get that way when some of the girls I work with come back after a college leave, since I'm closer friends with them than with the usual ones I see all the time. It's probably genuine friendly feelings, not 'lover' feelings.

That's my best estimation. If you want this guy, feel free to ask him again to hang out for coffee or lunch sometime and see what he says. If you don't have the confidence to do that, then sit back and wait for him to ask for your number to meet up.

For the UPDATED question: I USE TO get jealous when a girl I liked would flirt/talk to other guys, now I don't. I practically could give a sh*t less who she talks to, because I am NOT the controlling type of guy who will ever be jealous for another girl again. She has the freedom to do whatever she wants, and if a girlfriend of mine ever flirts too much, and doesn't pay enough attention to me, I'll assume she's not interested anymore and just walk away.
