As a woman, watching this video, I am disgusted, couldn't even finish watching. What do you guys and gals think? Is this OK as everyone attempt to make it seem?

Speaking as someone who's both trans and (before I transitioned) a former elite athlete, yes for FTMs and not sure for MTFs.

For FTMs, yes because I can't see how they would have any advantage over genetic males. I say "not sure" for MTFs because of a lack of data. They only study that I'm aware of on post- vs pre-transition MTF athletic performance is a study of competitive runners. That found that the athletes had the same relative performance post transition as they had before. However, the sample size for that study was small.

Personally, I don't think I would compete at the masters level in my sport because I'd still be worried that I had an unfair advantage against other women. Although the hormones caused me to lose a large amount of both strength and aerobic power, I know that in the back of my head, I'd always wonder if the playing field were level, and I just couldn't live with that.

I don't agree with the transgendered way of thinking, but I'm all about owning your decisions. If you're a female and you want to jump on the bandwagon and support this nonsensical way of justifying a person's actions for the sake of social acceptance, I say let 'em play. You wanna go along and say they're a female, let that female compete with other females. If the real females get their ass whipped in competition, maybe they'll consider calling them what they really are. You can't have it both ways, but damn some people sure do try.

Supporter how? Of them being allowed to compete in any division they want on their word alone? No. I'm not a supporter of anyone doing that. I wouldn't support an adult competing in children's sports just because they identify as a child or a white person being an NAACP chapter leader just because they identify as black. But w/e, if society really wants to allow men to compete in women's sports then just get rid of gender segregated sports entirely. No man is afraid of a woman competing in the men's division.

Though it goes against the grain, no I don't. On either side mtf or ftm, it's dangerous or unfair to the athlete and/or to their team or opponents. I'm currently in the process of hrt, and I've given up on certain sports because of it. I "get" why people think it should be allowed, but you just can't ignore science when it comes to this.

It's not OK! Transgender athletes who were born male shouldn't be allowed to compete on women's sports. Men have an unfair genetic advantage. Men are able to very easily build muscle mass, an advantage that genetic women don't posses.

That said, I don't think it's a good idea to allow trans athletes compete with men, as their new "assets" would prove a big distraction, giving them another unfair advantage. So if they wanted to start trans legues, I'd understand.

I am against it. It's blatantly unfair and I am tired of people saying they don't have an advantage because they obviously do. Point out a trans athlete who competed as a guy and then decided they were a girl who isn't smashing world records and winning every event. If they were average then it wouldn't be an issue to anyone but they are making women's sports a joke.

I'm probably the only actual supporter they have here. I'm for doing the actual research to find out what's wrong with their heads and getting them actual help as opposed to helping them mutilate themselves. If you're a man and you're playing against women, you're cheating yourself as an athlete. Athletes need actual competition or they're not athletes.

It is very unfair to allow boys whose disorder makes them "feel like" they are girls to compete against girls in sports. Their muscle mass, overall strength and testosterone levels give them an advantage and it makes a mockery out of any event they're competing in.

Tbh I think there needs to be a transgendered class for athletes BC if a trans women goes into any sport there instantly going to have the upper hand.

Even though they are taking stuff to stop there testosterone they are still stronger and have more muscle than a born women.

So it just isn't fair to none transgendered women but it's a hard thing to work out and be sensitive about

It kind of makes me think with testosterone and genetics that maybe instead of a straight male/female segregation there should be a scientific testing that puts people into a category that they are genetically implied for. I mean i had a guy friend who was skinny and would probably could have been out sported by any woman. I've seen women who can out bench even me. So it is going to have to be reevaluated in that sense. Whether you are male, female or trans.

If a man claiming to be a transgender woman/girl competes in a sport against my daughter and beats her at it, I don't consider it a fair victory and never will. That is a biological male and that's how I feel about it.

If they want to compete against each other, let the transboys and transgirls do so.

Well if a regular (not trans) athlete took hormones in the quantities that most trangenders do, they would be permabanned from the competitive sports for substance abuse. So there's that.

Absolutely not, they're either at an unfair advantage, or an unfair disadvantage. Allowing confused people to compete isn't ideal, better to help them get proper mental health treatment
