I'd probably do one of two things:
a) Make guys more dominant and assertive on the whole in a way such that they aren't condescending.
b) Make guys comfortable expressing themselves emotionally.

Sometimes it feels better to have some people in your life, even if they're far, far from perfect, than to lose them and feel potentially alone, but I hope you recognize that they are really not great people.
