... By an institutional force. If Cops in particular do not want to be associated with police who DO kill, they have a responsibility to APPOSE the crimes committed by those who commit those cops who do commit those crimes. They are here to carry out the law by protecting in service of the people. If you are given unlawful orders you can not be legally forced to carry them out nor can you legally justify carry them out. That is the Nuremberg principle.. Established during world war 2 at the completion of Nuremberg trials.
Typo*...,, responsibility to APPOSE the crimes committed by those cops who do commit those crimes. They are here to carry out the law by protecting in service of the people.
So what's your point? You think people should just shut up and forget about George Floyd? We're just supposed to ignore the fact that this problem is getting progressively worse? It seems to me like cops killing innocent black people is becoming more common of an occurance as time goes on, and the government does nothing to fix the problem. Name one change to police training that came about as a result of this? Not only that but there wasn't even justice, Derek Chauvin got 3rd degree murder/manslaughter, should've been 2nd degree, and the other 3 officers should all be charged with 3rd degree murder.
@devilman666 where did I say that. Don't put words or thoughts on me I didn't say I'm done with that. But now other innocent people have died because of this violence. Do their lives not matter too?
Of course their lives matter, but that doesn't mean you get to stop people from protesting. The protests could have happened without ang death if the police did their job properly. I live in Canada and we held protests in honor of George Floyd too, guess what? Ours were completely peaceful because police worked with protesters, in the USA they criminalize protesting woth curfews, then they use teargas to disperse protesters, forcing them to spread around the city which makes the protest impossible to contain or control. The amount of mayhem also makes it very easy for criminals to make some extra money, so they add to the problem by taking advantage of the chaos.Trust me, if the government had stepped in and ensured the protesters were protected, and made a serious attempt to get justice, and a serious attempt to reform police training to make sure that people like this can't get into the police force anymore, then all this violence could have been avoided.
@devilman666 again who said stop the protesting? STOP THE VIOLENCE! STOP CRIME STOP ALL SHOOTINGS not just police involved shootings. Curious tho, why you only coming at my words trying to twist everything I'm saying but none of the other 20+ people who literally had same opinion as mine? I'll discuss, but I won't have someone twisting my words.
The police are stopping the peaceful protests and ensuring that violent protest is the only way to be heard. They are using curfews to criminalize protesting, "oh you're protesting peacefully? Well now that we have a curfew in place you're nothing but a filthy rioting criminal".How did I twist your words with my last response? I was just pointing out all the failures of American police. I agree they should stop the crime but the only way to do that is to work with the protesters like we did here in Canada. We had a crowd of over 3000 protesting in vancouver and no violence happened, because police were involved before the protest even began, they workes with the leaders of the protest to set it up in a way that would be safe for everyone, as a result we had a peaceful protest with no violence or looting. Your police disperse the crowd which makes the problem worse, it's easier to control protesters when they're all in one spot, when they disperse through the city you just start getting waves of violence spreading throughout the city. On top of that, instead of working with protesters, your police criminalize protesting with curfews and then lock up protesters.
@devilman666 that didn't happen the first night here. It didn't happen till a night of violence, police officer shot, businesses looted burned. So they should let them stay on the street to do more damage? My daughter couldn't even get home from work yesterday because of people who were trying to incite more riots. And if she would of got hurt or killed they gonna protest her death? ALL racism PERIOD needs to stop ALL BAD cops need to be stopped. BUT NOT ALL COPS ARE BAD but now people are targeting innocent cops. How it's that any different. How is that right. People don't want to be judged by skin color not should they. But don't falsely judge someone by their profession, rather their OWN actions
Nobody evwr said all cops are bad, they just want a change made so that this doesn't happen again. Because it will happen again and I promise you the protests will be worse next time.
They should let protesters stay on the streets and they should work with protesters to ensure thenprotesters are heard in a peaceful and nonviolent manner. As I've pointed out multiple times now, here in Canada our protests did not devolve into violence and looting, the reason why is because the police got involved in a good way tl ensure protesters could be heard without anyone getting hurt. The protest was kept in one area so police coild monitor it, protesters were not dispersed, violence did not break out, etc.

I haven't made it over there yet. This thread has invoked some strong emotions.
Well, you agree with my proposal?
No, fuck off.
You determine which ones are good and bad by listening, not talking
no, listening doesn't always work
No but a necessary reminder to those who seem to forget that
Haha! That is what I think also.
Why aren't they expressing their views in the polls?
@Aislin9 For the same reason, I am getting so much pushback in my racial segregation thread. In Eastern Europe, when you meet racists, they just tell you they are racist straight up. They do not care who is angry about it. They are not embarrassed about it. Metalstrum here is a great example. He just tells us we are a race of backwards monkeys. No weirdness.American racism is different. It is a racism that is constantly embarrassed about being racist. American racists not only convince themselves they are not racist. They want you to agree to their crazy racist ideals. So it is passive aggressive. It is the racism that comes in the backdoor. It lies. It cheats. It does anything it can to seem like it is legit. Then Breonna Taylor gets killed in her sleep and it becomes plain as day. They are pissed off that we would dare get angry about her death. We are ungrateful for all they have done for us. We should go back to Africa, if we don't like it here. We should know that a lot of "Blacks" commit crime that's why police shoot innocent "Black" folks. We should know how hard they got it being "White". . . even as Breonna's boyfriend is screaming on the phone that someone came in and shot his girlfriend. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0EnRabtRhg
Thanks for the explanation. I need to look into all that.
American racism is covert? Uh-huh. Suuure it is. When a Black, Hispanic or Asian that is as qualified for a job isn't hired & a White person is that's racism. Call it whatever else you want but it's down & out racism. American racism isn't covert. Americans don't like to admit they're racist. Entirely different story.
@AshViper That was his point though, I was asking about the poll and why they aren't voting on it.
@AshViper You have to think of it from their point of view, they actually don't think they're racist. Just like bullies don't think they're bullies.
@AshViper I don't think we care much about the whole employment discrimination thing at the moment. We are just trying not to die at the hands of police officers.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-vGp5uOjL4
