We can disapprove of his criminal history while still being angry about his unwarranted murder by police...
I'm just as angry that a violent thug like Floyd was out on the streets and the violation of MY justice that represents as I am about the way the cop killed him.
It isn't one or the other, you can be upset about both.
But why is one completely ignored by the media and the other pounded by them 24/7/365?
Because criminals break the law and abuse it by definition, while cops are supposed to uphold, protect, and respect the law. "Criminal breaks the law" isn't an outrageous headline, "Cop suffocates man to death for 9 minutes while he pleads for his life" is. Why can't you see that there are two very separate things going on here?
Yeah, How is corona virus situation in your country? ↗ holds up just as well as Anybody else here completely indifferent to this Coronavirus panic nonsense? ↗ both show who was being reasonable.
That was not meant to go here! Sorry.
Oh, yes it was! :)
@goaded Lol just read your debate with Physics-man, wonder if they can put their foot in their mouth after probabilities become actualities
@goaded I mean Nightdrot*
Yeah, he's blocked me since then. :)
Exactly, he wasn't killed during a pursuit in a dangerous crime, his past convictions weren't relevant. Maybe he wasn't a good guy, but that isn't what the outrage is about.
Exactly. But the right wants to portray him as a thug that doesn’t have rights of any kind.
Two separate conversations man...
Doesn’t matter what he did, the cop committed a serious crime and is going to be punished for it.
Floyd also needed to be punished for his long list of crimes. He didn't get enough punishment. If he had gotten the death penalty and been executed as this scum should have been, our cities wouldn't be on fire today.
Where is OUR justice? Why should WE have to live in fear of mutants like Floyd with a criminal history longer than the story of the evolution of the earth? Why is this thug still on the streets committing crimes?
Ah the true colors of one who thinks murder is acceptable. Thank you for showing us, good day.
You are the true colors of someone who thinks breaking into a pregnant black woman's home and putting a gun to her belly to rob her with a band of marauders is acceptable.You care more about the thug's rights than you do about the rights of the innocent to be free of these mutants.
Except I didn’t, I said it’s irrelevant. Fact of the matter is, a cop murdered a man on camera. That is a crime, a murder that you are good with.
So what Floyd the thug did to this pregnant black woman is not a crime because it wasn't on video? That's why you are good with it?
You clearly didn't watch the video so you are still living in a fantasyworld.
Of course it was a crime, and I never said if I was ok with it or not. I said, yet again, that it’s irrelevant as the issue at hand is the cop murdered someone.
You say it's irrelevant, that's your opinion. But it's not mine.
Except it’s objective reality. Whatever he did in the past is irrelevant to that day.He wasn’t being violent or accused of a violent crime He wasn’t resisting arrest He was politely pleading with the cop to let him breatheSo what did the cop do? Leaned his knee on the mans neck until he died, that is called murder. That cop made him a victim of a violent crime.
Sometimes people use RESPECT to mean “treating someone like a person” and sometimes they use RESPECT to mean “treating someone like an authority”And sometimes people who are used to being treated like an authority say “If you won’t RESPECT me I won’t RESPECT you”, but what they mean is “If you won’t treat me like AN AUTHORITY I won’t treat you LIKE A PERSON”And they think they’re being fair but they aren’t, and it’s NOT OKAY.Not my quote.
@Metlahaed you’re just a prick trying to justify your racism (and the police officer’s) based on irrelevant facts for the current case.
@BulletproofNY You've got the wrong guy. I assume you meant memento mori...
@Metlahaed lol sorry dude
Everyone agrees with you. You will not hardly find anyone who favors cops killing people amidst the course of their duties of day to day police work. If you do, it's guaranteed to be a troll. Everyone wants fair, safe, well trained policing. No one wanted Floyd to die. We also don't have all of the facts and the accused police officer has the right to defend himself in a fair trial. The facts need to be collected without prejudice.
Yes, it will change my opinion of him. He's a backstabber who lacks integrity.
@Hispanic-Cool-Guy You mean Dr. King?Dude, who cares? It isn't like you think you benefited from anything he did.
Why would you even admire someone that constantly cheats on his wife? That's a reflection of your moral character.
@Hispanic-Cool-Guy Because I am not perfect like you.
"No hero is perfect"Right! Just because you broke into a pregnant woman's home with a band of sub-human marauders, put a gun to her stomach and held her threatening to kill her and her baby while she was screaming in fear and her house was being ransacked doesn't disqualify you from being a hero!I mean no one is perfect. He's black after all, so we have to measure his heroism by a much lower standard. It's racist to apply the same standard to a black person that you would to the rest of the human race!How could I have missed that?
Dude what he did was despicable. But he went to jail and he served his time. He did not deserved to be killed, no matter how many things you dig up from his past. He did not deserve to be tortured and then killed.And please get off it. The cop was not punishing him for some prior crime committed ten years earlier.Its funny how the racist mind works. We have forgiven Mark Wahlberg for attacking and beating an Asian man unconscious. He served 45 days for that.George Floyd was in jail for five years.
That's why she's paid the big bucks!
He could have been the second shittiest person on Earth, he still didn't deserve to die at the hands of #1.
@goaded Who's #1?
@goaded Also if he was the shittiest person on earth, then I don't care if he died like that.
#1 is the person who killed him without due process.
@goaded Yeah, then I've seen worse then him.
