Tell that to my buddy Mike who got arrested for being black next to a brawl outside the bars in my college town. The cop literally grabbed the first black dude he saw and slammed him on the hood of the cruiser, HARD AND FACE FIRST, yelling at him to stop resisting, as if he should just passively accept being arrested by a complete stranger who has no idea what the situation is for something that he didn’t do, and that every random bystander is screaming that he didn’t do. I wouldn’t go quietly either, FUCK THAT. And by the way, they didn’t give the white kid they arrested who actually had participated in the fight any kind of lumps, and he didn’t go easy either, they just pulled him away and into a cruiser, meanwhile they were kicking the shit out of my buddy, just slamming him so hard, his ribs and face were all marked up.
Anyway, yeah, he was “innocent until proven guilty”, he got “due process”, but why should he have to be robbed of months of his peace of mind, thousands of dollars in legal fees, and just plain old being abducted and held prisoner? That should never happen under any circumstances. Literally everybody screaming that he hadn’t done anything, he had a slice of pizza in his hand for fuck sake, and the cops are just telling everyone to shut the fuck up. Simply unbelievable, it was like something you’d think you’d see in a movie. Nobody should have to go through an ordeal like that.
If they dislike you, for any reason, a cop will make one's life miserable, or end it, depending on how they feel.
They don't need to suspect anything, and can detain a person on false charges. Because the justice system requires large amounts of money for proper defense, most people will roll over and take the false charges.
I've had coos tell me, at gunpoint, to sign a traffic ticket they knew, and stated knowing, was false, but they were going to "get me" and "yeah me a lesson" until I went back where I came from. They made well known that they didn't like my "kind."
One doesn't need to do anything suspicious. Cops will randomly pick on a person, and God help that person if they choose to legally defend themselves after the violence at the hand of police.
I have yet to meet a good cop. Ever. I know of one who I think is good, and is long retired, but even he had questionable stories of going along, which really means he was equally as bad.
Not true depends on the cop.
My brother was harrassed by a cop and my brother was only 6 years old and I was 4 all we were doing was playing at the park, he was treating us like we don't belong there ( which we did ) it was a private club house that had a park for the townhouses and just because it was a suburban area and pricey he was saying how we don't belong here. Luckily the my friend babysitter ran for help while the other parent was on our our side trying to protect us.
Mostly true; but the only problem is that here in America there is so many laws that if you typed them all out on double sided thin paper it would be three stories high. So staying on the right side of the law is almost impossible.

That's not necessarily true, police can and do stop and/or harass people for anything they consider to be "reasonable cause for suspicion of committing a crime", which could be anything from wearing a hood and sagging pants, to driving the same model of car as someone who committed a crime in the area based on ongoing reports.
And even if it was true, there are still a lot of things that are illegal that should not be illegal. Such as keeping your own goddamn money. Or owning certain types of guns/a gun without a license. Or ingesting a plant.
False, racial profiling and cops just generally being dicks is also an ever present concern. Even if 9/10 are decent you would only need to bump into 10 to have a bad time.
The system itself is also corrupt, disproportionately enforcing laws against minority groups being one of the more common examples.
False. If a system is set up so that cops have to meet certain quotas, then they will go after anyone innocent or guilty in order to meet that quota.
There are also stupid policies out there or that were once out there that creates the incentives for cops to go after innocent people.
Then there are also asshole cops that is itching to display his power over people.
This is just the reality.
Nope cops fuck with you regardless of how you behave, but if they have no charge they let you go on your way after after they are done. If you’re doing crime, they arrest you. If you resist arrest after doing a crime that’s generally when things go wrong.
Eh false, my dad takes walks early in the morning, at the beginning the cops were natraly suspisus, pulled him over five times before they got to reginising him, got to be friends with one too... After a while my dad brought my mom with him, unused to seeing two people they naturally pulled over and checked.
I was once hounded by an undercover detective while at work getting shopping carts who was falsely accusing me of trying to get into cars. Dude was saying I was questioning his eyesight like wtf. I trust police about as much as I trust standing next to a hornets nest.
That being said im 31 years old and that’s my only run in with the law 😂 im such a thug
Not really cops always be doing dodgy things. and Asking dumb questions for no reason. Legit one time a cop asked me if i use the toilet at the Mcdonalds till this day i have no clue what that was about
Usually true, but sometimes false. I've been in the car when a friend of mine was pulled over for "being in the left lane too long" when we needed to make a left to get home. I've been stopped and questioned while walking through the neighborhood. While those are the only two times in my life I can point to, those are times I've experienced being stopped by cops while not doing anything illegal. So the answer is: False.
It's amazing how most people get through their lives with very little police interaction yet others can't get through a day.
If you are SUSPECTED of doing anything illegal, the cops will be on your ass.
Not absolutely true. I have been pulled over because I was driving slowly through a parking lot looking for my friends car. There are other incidents where I have been questioned by cops while they were investigating something
99% of the time, yes. I reserve the 1% when people are protesting for legitimate reasons but the government don't like people getting out of line so they encourage police brutality like in the Yellow Vests protests.
It largely depends on whether you're white or black:

Nope they said I looked like so one hand cuffed me for 20 mins then said we have the wrong guy sorry. And didn't give me By info on why
True if you’re white (here comes the backlash lmao)
Everyone says "you're innocent till proven guilty"... BULLSHIT! you're guilty until proven innocent!
Try telling that to Mclain
The violinist, who was simply walking down the streets, and murdered, while black
if you believe that then i have some bikinis for you to wear in antartica. lots of treeless sun
You can be hassled by the cops for anything and nothing. Even killed but less likely if you are white.
False. Have had my face held down to the hood of a police car for being brown and outside eating a chimichanga on the curb.
