Teen boys are now being forced to take estrogen in juvenile hall in Los Angeles. What does everyone think of this?

A 16-year-old boy being held at a Los Angeles County juvenile hall developed enlarged breasts after he was prescribed estrogen to treat a behavioral disorder, a move that baffled doctors who said the treatment defied medical logic, according to a lawsuit filed last month.

The teen, whose identity is being withheld because of his age, was diagnosed with oppositional defiant disorder, or ODD, two days after he was arrested and housed at Eastlake Juvenile Hall in June 2019, the lawsuit said. Medical records reviewed by The Times show that the teen’s testosterone levels were “slightly high” when the doctor who diagnosed him prescribed daily doses of estrogen.

The boy was FORCED to take the drugs. He was threatened with jail time if he refused.

This is such bullshit. I hope those responsible are terminated from their positions and are never permitted to work with children again.

That is what happened to Alan Turing in the 50s. He

As for this Unfortunate young man. It’s dangerous when hormones get held accountable for all behavior bc that leads to a slippery slope. It led to many hysterectomies and lobotomies psychiatric incarceration of women in the 18th century.

My question is where are the legal guardians of this minor? Or if he hasn't one, where is the guardian at litum that should be appointed to look over any minor that doesn't have a legal guardian... Because by law, you can't prescribe or force medicine on an underage minor child

"ODD"-"Oppositional Defiance Disorder" is a bullshit "disability" diagnosis which basically means that the kid is an asshole and needs to get the basic fact that the world doesn't revolve around him and this behavior has consequences. In the school they "mainstream" these little shits in with the rest of the kids and call the diagnosis a "learning disability which must be accommodated". So the turd is put in a regular classroom where he disrupts learning for everyone and but with no consequences until they finally get violent having learned no restraint. Then they get sent to juvie. This lawsuit alleges lack of parental consent and if that is true it is apt to be lucretive for the kid and the family-LA County is a deep deep pocket. He will get consequential damages to rectify any ill effects and also general damages ("pain and suffering") for the wrong done to him. Little shit just hit the jackpot.

Did you read the article? the boy was threatened, Told he would go to jail if he didn't take the meds.. He was also told he would go to jail if he told his dad.. I included the full text of the law suit as well as the article breaking this story, i suggest you read it before you say something like that.. Additionally Estrogen is not a standard treatment for ODD.. Ritalin or risperdal is. its amazing how many people simply refuse to read the article..
