"Despite everything, I believe that people are really good at heart." Do you agree with this quote from Anne Frank?

Anne may still have a lot of optimism despite what happened to her.
I’m more critical at any idea, and I don’t think people can be good at heart. For one thing, what one considers good and evil is subjective in it’s nature. So what standard should we look at the statement?
Should it be “People are really good at heart from my perspective” or “People are really good at heart from their own perspective”?
The former option doesn’t seem to be true. Some people hold beliefs that I wouldn’t believe is justified or moral, so I would have to disagree with the former statement.
If we take the latter statement, then that’s really saying that people believe they’re good deep down, which is something that is obviously true for most people, but it’s conveys little meaning. So what? Hitler believed what he was doing was good and just, but that’s not what Anne Frank probably meant.
No. The Bible is clear that ALL humans are born sinful, which means we are inherently evil. Natural human instinct is to be selfish, greedy and believe our lives and survival matters more than that of others. Only through Christ can we be saved from evil. One major proof of this is the first instinct that comes to mind when someone wrongs us. The first thought in most people's minds is to get even. It takes humans more effort to forgive than to exact revenge. That in and of itself proves humans are born evil and must strive to be good.
Yes kind of agree. I think everyone has a balance of good and evil. No one can be just one of them. It's a equal amount of both in all of us.
Lol sorry Anne, but not a chance.

No, I don't.
The only thing people truly are at heart is selfish.
Selfish is not equal to evil, but it's not equal to good either.
People only truly care about themselves and how things impact them, and sometimes that comes at a benefit to others while other times it doesn't.
anne frank was quite right and so would i have been if i said this myself just 20 years ago but something has happened since that makes many people in the west turn on each other rather than blame leaders so if you want to know if its true today i have to say not so much
I would have been more inclined to agree with her statement prior to the advent of political correctness, SJWs, cancel culture, virtue signaling, radicalized news and teachers, and antifa
Anne Frank is completely wrong.
Humans are inherently selfish, envious, greedy, hateful, violent or like to see violence among other bad traits.
If you are evil, you are not good, even if you were at one point.
People are selfish, greedy, and only out for themselves. I'm honestly surprised I care so much about what they think
That's why I think when it comes to dating people should be more selfish. Because remember, most folks are self centered.
Somewhere, somehow, there is at least a scrap of decency in all.
Ofcourse not. I do wonder if she still would have thought that if she grew up.
Nah, Nick Cave & The Bad seeds states it better: "People ain't no good."
Sounds like what free-spirited ignorant people would say these days
Until they get shot lol
Yes, that is pretty clear. So much more good than evil in the world.
The wording sucks
Whoever wrote that they should of gone into more detail
i only agree to a certain degree, i mean hitler was just evil no matter how you slice it so that's why i take the quote with a grain of salt
Not necessarily, he led a great country and revolutionized the economy of an ailing country. He was a beloved leader among his people. Propaganda demonized him after his death.
@FackThePackers21 sure, but he still killed millions of people, including his own people who wouldn't follow his guidelines. yes, he revolutionized the economy but look at the cost because of that. thank you for your reply
No not really, he wouldn't kill his own people if they weren't Jews or Communists. He was racist to the extent that he didn't want to bomb Britain because he considered them to be fellow powerful whites with "rich history," lmaoooo. It was actually Britain that was bombing German civilians first despite Hitler's peace talks.
@FackThePackers21 Are you straight up out of your fucking mind? What's your deal kid? White Pride, wannabe Nazi? How did you get this fucked up to think Hitler was a great leader, all his people loved him and it was only propaganda that demonized him after his death? Seriously, what is your mental defect?
@jakerson181 I try to look at history through an objective... and I'm not white. *facepalms*
@FackThePackers21 I can't imagine on what planet, in what universe someone looking at history objectively could reach the conclusions that Hitler was a great leader, beloved by his people who brought great economic success to his country and who's just gotten a bum rap by history.
And the fact that you're not white makes your mental defect seem even more severe. Man, you must be some seriously self hating minority. *facepalms*
@jakerson181 Nice strawman argument there. Hitler was an bad man, but so was Winston Churchill. They both had their flaws and positive attributes. Try being unbiased.
@FackThePackers21 Strawman argument? You mean repeating the argument you just made? And you're equating Churchill and Hitler? They both had flaws and positive attributes? Are you fucking kidding me? Get the fuck out of here with that crap, kid.
@FackThePackers21 You're 16 and clearly extremely immature. But as an experiment, go to school and tell your teachers "Hitler really was victim of propaganda after his death. People don't talk nearly enough about all the good things he did for Germany and how much of a beloved leader he was among his people." and see what their reactions are.
@jakerson181 Smh, looks like you've gotta relearn your history. Churchill killed millions in India (which was colonized by Britain at the time) by relocating their crops from there to Britain without the war. When questioned about the British-induced famine, Churchill replied "Let them die, they breed like rabbits." Moreover, Churchill's colonies in Africa endured intense suffering, rape, and oppression by the British during and even after WWII. But you've probably never even heard of this. I don't blame you. History is written by a victor.
@jakerson181 Yes, many of Hitler's acts were overexaggerated after his death. Most famously the Jesse Owens incident, in reality Jesse Owens IN HIS OWN AUTOBIOGRAPHY stated that Hitler had not snubbed him but in fact given him a smile and a salute. He claimed that it was FDR who snubbed him after winning as he was never invited to the White House. These are his words, not mine. Undoubtedly, Hitler committed a variety of war crimes and atrocities but many were over-exaggerated. This is due to the fact that before the US entered WWII, a large portion of Americans were supporting Germany. After a deal with Britain to gain proxy control of their colonies in the Middle East if they helped them win the war, America quickly began their propaganda campaign against the Axis powers. They were incredibly successful in demonizing Germany, and this motivated their soldiers all the more and encouraged more people to join the army. Of course I won't bring this up at school, I'd be labelled a "neo-nazi" immediately just like what you did to me. Have a nice day, if you need more info... just PM me.
@FackThePackers21 I've forgotten more about world history than you'll ever know so you can save the head shaking and condescending lecture about needing to relearn my history. I doubt most of what you claim about Churchill is true or at a minimum has been heavily skewed by people with an agenda. But regardless, this discussion is not about Churchill, it's about Hitler and your belief about all the positives he did for Germany and that history has dealt him a bum rap and ignored his positive attributes. I just can't emphasize enough how utterly ignorant those beliefs make you sound and how fucked up in the head you have to be, especially as someone who isn't white, to believe that. But seriously, have that discussion with your teachers and see if they think your head is as fucked up as I do.
@jakerson181 There you are, at it again with your bias. You must really have a chip on your shoulder to be cursing out teenagers on GAG. Get a life.
@FackThePackers21 I just read your last comment. What a complete load of bullshit. I don't know what right wing neo-nazi organizations you're getting your 'history" from but it's utter nonsense. There was nothing over exaggerated about the war crimes Hitler committed. I've visited Auschwitz. I've seen what he did first hand. Go read the transcripts of the Nuremberg Trials. Seriously, are you insane? And I should PM you for more of your revisionist Nazi approved history like you're some sort of history expert? You're an ignorant 16 year old kid who's easily been brainwashed. Get yourself some help.
@FackThePackers21 Dude, you are straight up nuts. Absolutely gonzo. Get the fuck out of here with your revisionist Nazi history.
No. I'm sorry but the truth is people aren't good because "good" is a subjective term and often revolves around tribalistic beliefs.
We’re horrible to each other when the chips are down. Ironic she wrote that before someone turned her in to the Nazis.
Why do people like Hitler and Trump get elected then? I don't know, I've lost my faith in humanity
Anne Frank never got to experience Twitter.
Yes it sounds good and true
No. People are fucked.
I think people are not born evil.
Not everyone she was into the girls anyway
