It's definitely real and I think it more powerful than race or gender privileges. Like I'd much rather be an attractive black woman over and ugly or average white man. Unfortunately I don't think it will ever go away. Even babies have been shown to have bias towards conventionally attractive faces so it seems deeply ingrained in us. Outside of genetic engineering to make sure everyone is born with desirable traits I don't think we will ever live in a world where attractive people aren't viewed/treated as superior.
