The fact of the matter is that persons of color who are rich will have children who will succeed while persons of color who are not are likely to have children much less likely to succeed.

The problem is the institutional racism that inhibits class mobility - in other words, it is more difficult for persons of color who are poor to join the middle class. For many, there is just little to no possibility of class mobility.

As to why colleges "discriminate" against Asians, this is because a critical factor in a college education is the education that you get outside the classroom by interacting with other students. The more varied the background, the better the learning experience. If all the best kids were Asians and colleges selected solely based on academic credentials, then the Asian kids would primarily be with only the other Asian kids. So, there is no learning about the ways of other ethnicities, religions, cultures, etc. This actually does them a disservice because, in the real world, the world is not populated with just Asians. You need to learn to handle yourself among people not like you and to gain an open mind because of it. This is a critical part of the college experience and why colleges partially use race / ethnicity as a criterion (affirmative action or discrimination) in their student election process.

And since Asians are disproportionately successful, rather than come to the conclusion that society isn't as racist as they thought, they instead rationalize that Asians are accepted as part of whiteness and benefit from it where other races do not.

They use terms like "whiteness" casually with other pseudo-academic language without explaining it fully to you because firstly, it makes them seem like they actually know what they're talking about, so people just go along with what they say. But it's also intended to be deliberately confusing.
