Have you ever dealt with a narcissist, you know the person that thinks everything should revolve around them as if they are God themselves?

"How common is a narcissistic personality disorder?
Experts estimate that up to 5% of people have NPD. Narcissism is one of 10 personality disorders."

It seems to me that people confuse others who are self-absorbed and self-centered as a a Narcissist.
I've known quite a few people who are self-absorbed and self-centered and they are not "bad" people. Sure, all they do is talk about themselves but they do a lot of good too.
Yeah I actually had an ex-friend who ended up revealing to me after a few months that she believed she was an incarnation of God, like Jesus.
In retrospect I shouldn't have been surprised because she was always telling me what to do, as if I had an obligation to obey her. For example, she told me I needed to delete my GAG account because GAG is wicked, and if I have any questions I need to ask her instead.
Then she started pressuring me to have "spiritual sex" with Satan, and she told me that I needed to stop questioning her, and that's when I just ghosted her.
I'm definitely going to be more cautious regarding whom I interact with in the future.
This summer I read the story of a famous occultist in the 20th century who manipulated a woman into doing a bunch of unhealthy and dangerous things & then threw her away like trash when he was done.
And the signs leading up to it reminded me so much of my experience with the girl I described in this post. I'm glad I was strong enough to cut her off before it got to that point. The girl was trying to convince me to move in with her. That would've been bad...
Wow! That’s a special kind of crazy.
He was my ex husband. Everything was about him. He's a liar, a thief, a cheater, and a drug addict. Everything that has ever gone wrong in his life is someone else's fault, according to him. He is a master manipulator and had me feeling like I was a bad person, even though I never once did him wrong.
I personally have not met anyone specifically like that but people in my life have tendencies like that. Wanting things a certain way and expecting things a certain way... Almost everyone in my life including myself has that to some extent but I think the key here is those that have this trait more than others

I just ignore those kind of people as much as possible and dont become friends with them so i don’t actually have to deal with them
Ever dealt with one?
Well I first saw him descending a golden escalator where he declared his intent to run for President and then called Mexicans rapists and murderers. He traumatized the nation and over 350 million Americans died because of this narcissist. Look at the traits listed and notice they all describe the loser currently raging out his last days in office.
Yeah, a few, including an ex. You have to get seayyfrom those people.
Yes, I have. It's a miserable experience every time you interact with them. It makes me want to see that person as little as possible.
Oh yeah there are even groups that glorify narcissistic behavior.
That is every liberal on this site and half the conservatives. All know it alls yet none of them question anything or do research to know the truth about anything.
This one lady we know- somehow everything ends up back with her----- one better, a bit faster, a notch nicer, etc.
Yeah. My mom and ex wife are narcissists. Awful experience.
Narcissists don't think the world should revolve around them, they think it does.
I dont deal with them.
Is there anything you are bad at?
