Well I believe they changed that ending to having the two of them get out of the rails before the train came. Honestly have no idea why the writers chose to do that though. Maybe that dude was going through a bad breakup.
Well, what's really inappropriate for a cartoon where they constantly show bodily harm that would be lethal in real life?
Not that I'm complaining or criticizing the cartoon, I liked it, but the ending to that episode isn't even the most inappropriate thing to be found in that show.
It's just based on reality. What it shows has been happening for decades. Not sure if showing the ending so dark was the best idea, but from what I get, the writers or something were going through a tough time. They continued the series so that vid is clickbait. The story of Bowsette that was popularized a few years ago is based on the same thing, with a happier ending. Both have truths, but one ends terrible, which is ending life over it and the other happy, which is bonding with a fellow man (Bowsette has a man's soul/brain) and not caring whether you got the girl or not.Similar story, different ending. This is also a similar somewhat reverse thing that is much less underrecognized, since it came from a show that really wasn't that great overall.https://www.youtube.com/embed/GsDIXnXNv6gAnd lastly, also has the same message. Many shows do. Fairy Oddparents, Filmore, the list goes on, it's just subtle and not as dark every time. https://www.youtube.com/embed/IOaFh-yJk_kHighly recommend this channel to see more. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1fND_N0qhY0RtFTeBA4iag/videos

That is soo sad, can only imagine who wrote the script. I guess in the end, it's all about mating and feeling loved.
Like me, it's their fault and responsibility they fell under the spell of such a selfish, manpilative, deceiving creature that didn't love them. I fell under the spell of an evil one, that was sweet, but deceptive and used her powers of coercion to control.
It's the greatest way to learn by making mistakes and growing from them, otherwise, why would we ever change? Some people decieve with just a picture, others use their manipulative tactics, but is that love? Look what it did to Tom. He wanted to die from the loss! Some can control and make him happy to be alone, these mating and coercion skills are powerful. They wanted to die, but life is after they realize their mistakes, grow as cats and mice and man and find a good quality mate of character and integrity and depth. The guy that drove off with the woman, his story is not told how he suffered.
It's actually a great story, but a child watching may only see the sadness. An adult will see the lessons in it.

maybe I don´t know it was produced to a time where more people were in relationships and most households where married people. I get why the creators produced this episode because it´s still a problem relevant nowadays. Many guys define themselves and their self confidence by what they achieve, having absolutely no success in dating makes one question himself. It´s not about being an incel it´s about feeling worthless because you can´t achieve a certain standards that called to be the ultimate goal nearly everywhere. It´s not incel stuff because it´s not necessarily about hating women it´s about hating yourself.

Pretty fitting. Look at how many people on G@G do exactly that. Constantly questioning, crying, moaning and bitching over every little thing to do with a partner, potential partner or even someone who just looked at them ffs.
We never see them get hit by a train, and they return in a later series so we know that's not how it ended. I absolutely loved the original Tom and Jerry, and I admire kids shows that can tackle more mature topics while still being entertaining for kids.

This is this stuff boys watch and grow up to become simps. The message of this episode is true: hypergamy never sleeps. Once the bigger better deal passed buy, she will dump you and never lose any sleep over it. In the best case she will just enjoy the free attention you're giving her. So what is the solution according to this episode? Let's get drunk into oblivion and fall into depression because pussy is everything today.
You gotta admit that it’s damn depressing tho😂🤦♂️

Were you really looking at Tom and Jerry for life lessons? If THAT'S what you took from it, I think you seriously misunderstood that show.

I am an old ass. I remember that episode. Of course that wasn't the last episode. It was just one about how Tom lost his love to Mr. Butch. And at the end Jerry's girl dumped him too.
And during childhood, I use to think that they are just pretending to be sad and there is a happy scene right after that. Really some things can only be understood after a certain age.

It wasn't that he couldn't get a chick, its that he litteraly signed his life away and ruined his future to get her and she just went with the richer cat.
He was after a materialistic girl basically... not worth his time. That chick didn't love either of them. She only loved the money and riches. I'm sure the right chick would've been with Tom even if he wasn't rich.

I never seen that episode before but it's really depressing as an adult for a cartoon.

Although I get the symbolics, these two have been through much worse, a train running them flat is just another day in the field.

@EmotionOfFear That just happens. People are just desperate that they relate to Tom and can't handle the truth about Tom being a simp.
Sure I can explain. She was never Tom's girlfriend to begin with. Not sure tho but still, there's no way he can compete with Butch. I can't even blame that girl, she's just having preferences but Tom is just so desperate. He should focus on his life and build himself up before looking for a relationship.
