Skype video chatting for the first time?

Anyone have any tips on video chatting?

We have been talking (IM) for a couple weeks, (never met in person) soon he is getting a camera so he will be able to video chat... I'm so excited! But I am nervous too... He is really fun to talk to through IM, I just don't want there to be any awkward silences or anything :b it will be our first time hearing each others voices,( we have seen pictures of each other) so if you have anything that you think would make it fun or less intimidating please share!

We talked for the first time last night.. He surprised me with a video call, was a little nervous And I clammed up,Then he asked if I was nervous I told him that yes I was (I've told him I will not ever lie to him, figure that applies to everything!) because in text chatting I am talkative. He was so sweet. But it was short, because I didn't know what to say 8/ so he kinda just had a one way convo... At the end he told me the next time I will have to help him out more I said I would try my best

What are some things we an talk about? Please! I have some questions and stuff that I wrote down... But that's not really conversation...

Play a game via skype! Not only will it give you something to talk about during any lulls in the conversation, it also shows you are fun and flirty. Play with him an get a little competitive ( just don't overdo it). This is great whether you are just starting to skype or are long-time chatters. It takes some of the pressure off because you are both spending time looking at the game and not staring each other down.

My boyfriend loves this idea because he told me he can catch glimpses of me smiling or laughing naturally when I don't know he is looking and it makes him feel closer to me when we are apart.

Another idea once you two are more comfortable is to have coffee via webcam or other video dates. It gets easier over time.

Well you can play all sorts of shared multiplayer games via skype. While in a conversation, there is an option bar at the top of the screen to select games. ( which are good for when you don't want to stare the person down like I mentioned)

Other then that, you can easily play flirty games but they involve talking( when you feel up to it). Try 2 truths+1 lie, or truth or dare, even just making funny faces and the other person can't laugh to lighten the mood :)

I was really nervous my first time, too :P So much so that I pretended my microphone wasn't working so I wouldn't have to talk out loud. We just IMed with our webcams on, which was much better. So you could do that and magically figure out how the microphone works once you're comfortable enough to turn it on, haha. But I recommend just going for it. Any awkwardness that might happen won't last for long once you get used to each other.

I've never tried Skype - but please proceed to do so as soon as possible! I've shared my horror story of spending months on IM only to finally get asked out on a date that the guy broke, leaving me disappointed to say the least! My advice is Skype, Skype, Skype! Hope it works out well for you two!

I've never tried video chatting with a girl , I wish i could find one from anather country , then we can talk , sharing stories and of course we love each other , , Maybe the distance between us makes our love story better then other one becouse i'll miss him and we'll waiting for the day to see each other , But how can i find him?

You can see each other face and shares each other happiness and sorrows... by seeing each other.. U can play some games too.
Sometimes dirty ones too lol

I have no experience whatsoever with video chatting, but with that said, how about asking him something general like, "so, what's going on in your life?" That opens up the door for him to give you information you can use for follow up questions and tells you more about him in general. It also lets him talk about something of interest to him, so there's less risk of boring him. Good luck!
