Why The Deep South Is Such A Shithole?

The states in the Deep South are always at the bottom of the rankings in education, healthcare, income, etc but very high in obesity, poverty, and teen pregnancies!!

You know who has the best rankings in education, healthcare, income, etc? The Northeastern states such as Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, etc

In most of these states there are no power centers to drive their economies.
factory jobs have all been shipped offshore and policies against coal mining and other restrictive laws have also destroyed good paying jobs. They depend on things like agriculture and other vocations that are not high profit endeavors.
The lack of capital keeps taxes low and this prevents investment in things like schools and health infrastructure.
Northeast states like New You k have banking , healthcare and educational facilities and they also tax the crap out of their citizens.

Which one would you live in, a poor third world state with little taxes or a highly ranked state where they can make more $$$ but the taxes are higher?

I live in a real moonbat state. Taxes are high, crime is high and there is corruption wherever you look. I have a house that is worth more than ten times what I paid for it. If I could talk my wife into it I would sell the place and move down south and retire.
