There are tons of men who defend pedophiles and try to hide them seducing and taking advantage of boys. They even try to justify their actions. There are some women even who would not report a female pedophile.

I think these people deserve to be fined or get a formal warning about their behaviour.

This depends on how you define pedophile, defend and punished. Your question can be interpreted as somewhat vague ad ambiguous.

Firstly, all accused criminals have a constitutional right to a vigorous legal defense by a qualified attorney. In fact if an attorney does not put a full effort into such he can be disbarred and lose his license to practice law and possibly face jail himself. A week effort on the part of the attorney can result in grounds for an appeal that can lead to the pedophile gaining freedom earlier than he should. If we start punishing attorney's for defending criminals in court we are going to end up seeing an end to civilization. Despite Shakespeare's admonition we really do need attorney's in our society.

The legal definition for pedophile is anyone convicted of a sex crime against someone who has not yet reached the age of consent. This would include in some jurisdictions a man who is 18 years and five days old kissing his girlfriend who is 17 years and 360 days old while it would in other jurisdictions permit a 50 year old man to have consensual sex with a 16 year old girl.

Punishment should fit the crime. In some jurisdictions it is a felony to possess a hand drawn cartoon depicting a child having sex. Such a person can get 25 years in prison even when the only victim is a piece of paper. In other jurisdictions a 45 year old man can rape a 10 year old girl, be sentenced to 5 years in prison and get released early for good behavior only doing 3 years in prison.

Well, as much as I hate children being exploited by pedophiles, I think that pedophiles are just people who have a different and more bizarre sexual fetish. A person who defends a pedophiles doesn't necessarily have to be punished, they are just defending a person who has different interest.

But if a person tries to defend and cover up a situation where a pedohphile has exploited a child or has sexual harrased a child. Then I would recommend them being held at least partially accountable for the loss of the child's respect, dignity and in general their entire life and also be held to court as an accomplice of the crime.

I do think it is bad for people to defend pedophiles but I also believe in freedom of expression. If we fine people for giving their opinions even if it is bad. That will cause a lot of problems like what other opinions are bannable or who decides what opinion is allowed. It is also against the constitution if you live in America.

But, Majority of people don't defend actually pedophiles meaning people who go after little children, and most people don't encounter women or men going after teenagers, so I don't know.. for crimes he committed against his own nieces, what makes me wonder he

In the US not reporting a crime is not in itself a crime. The reason for it is it's hard to prove that someone knew something. All someone has to say is "I didn't know..." And the state has a heavy burden proving otherwise.
