Do pedophiles deserve the death penalty?
It's amazing that the media doesn't cover child trafficking as much as it should.
There are three parts to this question that I have varying levels of agreeing/disagreeing with.
Do people with pedophilic disorder and *not* acting on the urges deserve death? No. I believe the answer is treatment on the disorder. I don’t think doing a blanket culling of pedophiles, regardless of their choices in life, is ethical. I’ve heard of several cases of people with pedophilic disorder gaining severe depression because they end up hating themselves for having their urges like that. (Aka they know it’s wrong, they don’t act, and want to change, but they hate themselves in that they can’t change their mind’s attractiveness towards something.)
Do they deserve it? I’m heading towards yes on this one, especially for ‘severe cases.’ It’s pretty fucked up, after all, and I’ve zero sympathy for perpetrators of sexual assault / abuse of minors / child traffickers.
Should the laws be changed to have the punishment for sexual abuse towards minors or whatnot as the death penalty? This is tricky, but I’m saying no on this one. The reasoning I give for this is that I believe changing the law at this point would give a rise to murder after sexual assault. Grimly put, a deceased victim is less likely to give evidence compared to a live one. If a criminal in the process knew he/she was getting death penalty regardless for whether the victim was alive or dead, I imagine some would take it as reasoning to murder. After all, we don’t have a punishment more severe than death penalty, and you can’t invoke it twice on someone. I don’t think it’s legally ok to change the law if it means it harms any victims more than it would if the laws weren’t changed.
I'd like to comment on this I know that haven't acted or harmed anyone, technically since I was 18 I can the 1990s Bratz sex with my girlfriend 18 or 19 when she was 14. She was a lot more experience than me and so it made it same reversed but technically that doesn't matter. I have had fantasies and attractions but never acted. Although I have cut it very close as far as Behavior concerning adults. Possibly could still be held accountable, and honestly that would be justified. But as someone who has not done anything wrong I still picked the death penalty above. That being the case if someone has offended 3 times that are felonies if two of those are associated with underage including p***, not necessarily need to be touching. Statistics say that I will offend and spend considerable time in jail. But that's stats for you. I do admit the fantasizing and feeding into the lust was a choice for me and it's not something that I couldn't have helped. that makes it worse. I think when you cross that line and you have those thoughts whether you say they're controlled or not there's an unspoken rule that you are already deserving of punishment. And you will be watched until you do something that can put you behind Behind Bars, the longer the would be the prevailing opinion. The idea being that your freedom is not worth more than the threat that you pose. And that's completely justifiable although personally I don't think that I'm a real threat. But technically no one goes to jail until they've done something wrong when it comes to offenders.
Note some typos above
Still kick your ass bitch
Make it slow. Flay them alive and nail them to poles on the roadside.
Well, look at it this way...

I do not practice in the area of criminal law, but I believe that it is unconstitutional to impose the death penalty for any crime that does not involve the death of another human.
@codyccc In Kennedy v. Louisiana, 554 U. S. 407 (2008), the US Supreme Court held that imposing the death penalty for a crime that did not cause the death of the victim would violate the Eighth Amendment ban on cruel and unusual punishments. The Court specifically excluded crimes against the state (such as treason) from the scope of the decision, but it is possible that the SCOTUS would extend the decision to cover treason, as well. However, that review must wait until a person is actually convicted of treason and sentenced to death. The only person in US history to be executed for treason was executed during the Civil War.
Response to update:. Someone being opposed to the death penalty for pedophiles does NOT mean that they favor or support pedophilia.
The sample size is small, but all the women are for it. Most pedophiles are men and by a wide margin. Look up SB145 in California. It's pretty preverse and it's sponsored by a gay man who wants to cut down the penalty on adults with "consenting" minors.
Yes, I understand. Don't interpret my response as support for pedophiles. I'm only answering from a legal perspective.
Look up NAMBLA. There was a radio commentator named Ken Hamblin who frequently talked about what a sick group they are.
Child-molesters? Sure… assuming reliable investigations & courts. The death-penalty is irreversible, after all.
As for pedophiles who consistently don't act on it (even seeking professional help if needed) and actively want to not harm anyone, I don't see why if they can still be productive members of society.
We're not talking thoughts, but actions.
as a parent, I am for them being removed either via such final measures or dumped on a remote island without any means of escape... hell they could (since exploration of mars is a suicide mission) send them to mars or send them to a penal colony somewhere where they can never breed, both men and women... but sterilise both sexes to ensure they can never continue their sick and twisted ways
No, not every case, every situation is the same. What if he's innocent? It's happened before with people. Literally the death penalty itself is abused at times. Look at the case in 2017 where in Arkansas I think it was eight men over a few days were about to be executed only because the drug they use to execute people which is Midazolam was about to expire which is expensive.
The likelihood of convicting an innocent man is so small that you have a better chance of being struck by lightning.
Actually you're significantly more likely to have an falsely charged death row convinct than getting struck by lightning.
Taking a life can only be justified by the crime of- taking a life.
Pedophilia , as bad as it is, does not, nor should it result in the death of the offender.
They can be jailed for life , castrated, or any number of things that would stop them from re- offending, short of death.
Taking a life is only justified by murder.
Yes but More like the option of torture lasts longer just like how it impacts the kids they do it too.
No, as I recently argued with a pedo in Japan on gag, simply having an urge -no matter how disgusting- isn't a crime. Pederasty, I believe, describes actual action. And if a person does it once, they'll do it again.
We're not talking about an urge... we're talking about the actual crime. Taking away the innocence of a small child is one of the worst crimes of humanity.
Yes I agree... you can't punish on thoughts... but the actual act, yes.
There is no good justification for the death penalty even for the worst of criminals. It is just a flawed punishment that is unsuitable in the hands of any government and can never be guaranteed to be used correctly.
Why kill them, why not just throw them in a tiny dark cell without any food or water
I think killing them is much more humane and softer
Yes, but it has to be really slow. A clean gunshot kill wouldn't be enough.
Yes because it harms the victim for life plus there is no treatment for them
If not death, I'd love castration.
I'm against the death penalty. I find it particularly offensive in non-murder cases.
they deserve the same treatment
If not death then life
Nope 15 -20 years
Seems about right.
I would rather a mugger or someone who steals money get the death penalty.
You find mugging and theft worst then pedophiles? 🤔
Yup much worst
Nah, mugging is not nearly as bad as pedophilia. Not in the same category tbh.
We're you mugged before or something?
Pistol to back my head
I figured so still it's not even in the same ball park. I'm sure you wouldn't feel the same way if you we're molested as a kid
@That1tallguy Yeah, getting mugged (which has happened to me) is not even on the same continent as being molested. Boy or girl, that would alter your life especially if it happened so consistently during your childhood.
It's seems fairly common being mugged in a sketch neighborhood. I know a decent amount of people who been mugged that are just fine. If I were to get mugged I think I would be really pissed and probably scared at the moment but not fucked up and traumatized if I were to get fucked as a kid. How did you feel after getting mugged? @bellybuttononlint
Also I know a few people who were raped and molested years/decades ago and it still effects them when they talk about it.
Milo yonopoilis
Gergoe takei seem fine
@That1tallguy I was pissed off, but I don't look back at it as a traumatic experience. It's like when I got punched when I was in high school... I don't look back and think my life was totally upside down.
No that would be far to lenient
Is what jesus would have done?
Yes.
Nobody does.
