It depends on how you define a pedo, first off.

Second, I agree with those that say it would be better to see what makes them the way they are. If it's some kind of brain defect, or a chemical imbalance, or if they share some kind of common event from their childhood (for example, bullied a lot). Maybe if we can figure out what makes them the way they are, we can prevent them from manifesting. Or at least fix them before they hurt anyone (provided they can be detected in time, of course).

I used to be in the "Give them death" camp, but then, I used to be a LOT different in regards to a LOT of subjects.

Well, being a pedophile does not constitute a crime as being a pedophile simply means having a sexual attraction to children. The vast majority of people will find this abhorrent and rightly so, but it does not become a crime until they abuse a child. So the question should really be whether pedophiles who have committed a sex crime should be hanged and I don't think too many would disagree with that.

Many would agree with hanging them whether they've committed a crime or not but that sets a dangerous precedent. Once you have such a thing as 'thought crime' then it's a slippery slope.

Of course they should. Molesting a child literally kills them inside and will affect and torment them for the rest of their lives. Anyone who molests children deserves the worst death imaginable , death penalty is cheaper then supporting and feeding them while in prison too. As for just being a pedo, we can't kill anyone who wants to rape kids , but none the less they dont deserve any respect, whether they've offended or not.

To begin with pedophiles are only people who have a sexual attraction to children, unfortunately.

If they act on it and become a molester, rapist... life imprisonment. We really aren't in a place to take a moral high ground and say that murdering someone is better cause that someone molested a kid. It's not that any better.

If they don't act on it and get some help, rehabilitate themselves... good for them. That's inspiring for change.

No. I don't agree with the death penalty. I think that's an easy way out, especially in these kind of cases, where being in jail is much more of a nightmare than dying. Everyone hates pedophiles, even those in jail. They watch the news, they know who's coming. They're gonna take care of the pedophiles.
Life in prison is a better punishment for these pieces of shit.

1. I'm against the death penalty in general. I don't think you can say that crime xy is worth a life. Also, I think death isn't necessarily the biggest penalty.

Their is a difference between a pedophile and a child molester. A pedophile just is attracted to children sexually. Doesn't mean they have done anything wrong to a child. If they act on it then they become a child molester. People need to learn the meaning of a word

Nah theyll be taken care of in prison. But I do think convicted pedos brains should be examined to see what exactly causes these urges. I think that's what we are really missing the boat. We have prisons full of them. It has to be a disease. To me at least is the logical answer. A normal person would never think of doing anything like that to a child or even "get up" to do it.

Pedophilia is different, kids don't know what the fuck a dick/vagina is for at that age, they think their weewee is only for weeing. The term needs to be fine a fixed definition. When someone says "oh, he/she is a pedophile" I am sat here questioning them on whether or not they are right, and when they say said person had sex with a 16 year old I have the urge to slap them.
