Question

In another desperate attempt to avoid being in the public eye, Prince Harry in an interview declared the American 1st amendment completely bonkers.
Naturally this has upset quite a few Americans. BUT what does the rest of the world think, do you agree it's bonkers or is it still relevant in todays world.

Bullying, harassment, racism, prejudices, steotypical comments that intend to offend, hate speech and defamation should always be illegal and should incur harsher penalties.

Our constitution is the highest law of the land one amendment protects the other you can't have the first without the second. The constitution is for checks and balances and to protect citizens against tyrannical polititions. The constitution is just as important now as it was when it was written and will continue to be. Unfortunately to many of our polititions and. law enforcement and military they don't keep their oath and the constitution is just a worthless historical piece of paper that they believe not to have a place in a modern united states. Many of our polititions , police , military members and judges are guilty of Treason and are in contempt of constitution.
We need to start holding these people accountable for their actions.
Read and get to know the constitution , take a class on the constitution , take of cop watching and videos to hold police accountable. Vote for elected officials who truly support and defend the constitution and vote out those who infringe on our constitutional rights.

When read in its entirety, the first amendment was designed for ragtag groups of men to gather as a named militia to defend their property from invading forces back when the country was new. Now there is ONE recognized militia by the federal government. That militia is the National Guard. Those who are members have to adhere to a set of rules and regulations, turn in their weapons at the end of their time.

What you see on many internet blogs are little fat boys with big wishes and no talent. They do not belong to any recognized militia.

I think the 1st Amendment has been completely misinterpreted. It doesn't mean that you get to say whatever you want and no one can do anything about it. It means that you deserve the right to express your opinion through things like free press, protests, and other forms of expression without being persecuted for it. But that doesn't mean that you can't be called out or have consequences for what you say. Freedom of speech does not allow you to express something that will cause harm to others and most people who try to claim their 1st amendment rights are trying to use it to justify their harmful and hateful speech.

Free speech is good but it should be used with respect and care of others. So going around calling every fat person, fat can be considered free speech but it also very rude and unnecessary hurtful for the fat people that most likely already are aware of their state. So have manners and free speech is a good thing and not something people should dislike. It's the most important amendment as I see it because you and I might not agree on everything. But we don't have to seek to lock each other up because of it. It's more than legality in my opinion. I am not an American and I think that the First Amendment and most of the remainder of the Bill of Rights are fantastic.
My other favourites and the Second and Fourth and Fifth Amendments.
Here in Australia we have NO rights that have been set down in the way that US citizens have.
The closest that we get is Section 116 of the Australian Constitution, which was a copy of the freedom of religion part of the US First Amendment.

Ironic that he is turning away from the monarchy yet holds such a view. I'm Australian and consider myself left of centre, yet, I can see the value in being able to bear arms and organise militia against a ruling authority. It provides an insurance policy that the will of the people won't be undermined. It is true the people are not immune to being beguiled by disinformation as we saw during the infamous government house insurrection and that organised militias could and are organised for purposes which are detrimental to the safety and freedom of the people but the main point is that at least there is a chance. The opposite would be what we see in China. You have a place like Hong Kong with millions of people who want democracy and they are completely helpless.
