Are liberals more uneducated than conservatives?

I think they’re a lot more susceptible to group think and trusting that the established way is the best… and they’ve bought into a system where that may be true, FOR THEM… but all my hardcore liberal friends, they seem to have a very hard time putting themselves in other people’s shoes.

A few months ago, they tried to tell me that the pandemic wasn’t ruining the economy, and it’s like bro, the government and corporations are putting local businesses UNDER… a ton of people were told they couldn’t operate their business for months, or risk being fined, while you sit in your cushy chair, working from home. Does something not rub you the wrong way there?

Then they ask me why I don’t get my own place, and it’s like bro… a 1 room apt is $1,200 a month. I barely crack $50k a year, am by myself, and want to live comfortably… meanwhile you and your wife bring in over $100k apiece. It’s easy… for YOU. I have to make sacrifices.

I haven’t gotten an increase in pay for 4 years, despite my efforts. If I were to put a down payment down on a house right now, not only is the market bad for buyers right now, I’d be clear out of cash, and living paycheck to paycheck for years to come… and that’s WITH a relatively new, paid off car.

All these liberals think they know everything… but something obviously has to change! Look around! Beyond your comfy bubble you’ve made for yourselves. You know? It’s tough out there for a LOT of people. And they scoff at and demean those that question them. At this rate things are just going to get worse. Biden is printing money out the wazoo, inflation rates are high, I just don’t think we’re heading in a good direction… ALL THINGS considered (right?)… I don’t.

But when you’re bringing in well over $100k a year, I can see how you would think life is all fine and good.

You're right... they are out of touch with reality. When Trump stopped flights from China to the US, the left said he was a racist! What the fuck? How is common sense racist? But the left turns to MSNBC to be told what to think, so they all jumped on the racist bandwagon.

There are a lot of very educated latte-liberals. It's just that all their opinions are given to them by mainstream media and reinforced by their like-minded friends. They are incapable of independent thought or logic and their minds are closed in self-righteousness. It's funny how they can be so ignorant about politics and yet think of conservatives or anyone who has different opinions as ignorant rednecks and deplorables.

I can talk because those latte-liberals used to be my people. I used to think my values were strongly liberal. And my core values haven't changed. But it seems to me that something happened to modern liberals. Maybe it's because liberalism got co-opted by the neoliberal Democratic party and its corporate media mouthpieces.
Independent thinkers like me, and there are many, no longer want to be defined by labels.
And in talking to more and more people across the political spectrum, I have found that many of those who identify as conservative are quite informed.

Those latte-liberals are the most conservative minded people I know. They had high paying jobs, are pro-corporatist and support U. S. imperialism in the name of "human rights". They live in their comfortable homes and sit in their living rooms clucking about all the bad things they read about in the NYT and hear on NPR, and imagin themselves to be social justice warriors for the less fortunate. They are up tight, self righteous, pearl clutching, safety Nazi go-gooders who love Big Brother government, and want to impose their values and beliefs on others. Yet, somehow, they think that is what it means to be liberal.

When I think of liberals, this one thought that always pops into my head. Somewhere back East, a city fire department was needing to hire more people. (true story)

There was a written test and a physical test. Not enough people of the right color scored high enough on the written test, so the city chose to right this by breaking the rules and hiring people who scored lower on the written test. (this only happened because of a law suit)

The suit claimed that the fire science test was racist!

Well, the firefighters with the highest scores fought back, and surprisingly, won.

So to this very day, I've challenged anyone and everyone with a good imagination to come up with an example of what a racist fire science question would look like.

Not necessarily. Conservatives are more commonly older, wealthier individuals or individuals with privilege so to speak. For this reason they are more likely to be able to afford higher education. Many liberals are younger and middle or lower class, thus meaning they may not be able to afford higher education. Many college students are also liberals. This is the sole reason, if any, that it could be argued that conservatives are better educations. Majority of the time there is no direct correlation do education and partisanship.

I would argue about the age thing. My young nephew is always sending me memes about the stupidity of liberals. Who thinks it's OK to burn down an innocent person's business because of something that happened to a stranger you don't know?

Yes, there were looters and rioters burning down buildings, but these people are shown because thats what makes headlines and stirs drama. Many who protested in the BLM movements were peaceful and genuinely wanted to see change. The impacts of slavery are vast and far reaching, it is not simply about George Floyd. It is about accountability and looking within America to fight systematic racism. Many stupidly excuse this behavior by arguing that America was taken by force to begin with when it was founded and throughout its history, but as Martin Luther King believed, violence is not the answer.

Recent years would suggest the people branded "conservative" in the media are less educated. This comes from the assumption that liberal ideology is brought about by "expanding" the mind through tertiary education as the "liberals" they interview tend to belong to the belief system that we should accept what people "identify" as, not what genetics has built into their bodies.

It's not really a matter of education. You can have an advanced degree and still be a fool in areas you haven't studied. An "intelligent idiot" as my dad used to say.

I've met racists and sexists with doctorates and empathetic counsellors who left school at 14. Your education doesn't determine your character, your character leads you into certain fields of study.
