"John Hurley, 40, drew a handgun and shot and killed Ronald Troyke last Monday in Arvada, Colo., The Guardian reported. Troyke, 59, was reportedly on the move to kill police officers, having already shot and killed Officer Gordon Beesley.
After shooting Beesley, Troyke then armed himself with an AR-15. That’s when Hurley saw Troyke and shot and killed him.
What followed next was unfortunate for the town’s hero.
Hurley picked up Troyke’s weapon, when officers arrived at the scene and shot him mistakenly."
Well I would want my wife and daughter to carry too I bet and why you include them by the way? Did they also say to carry or what? My wife doesn't carry but she does plan to start in a couple years. I don't carry and don't plan to because I don't think I could shoot anyone anyways so it'd be pointless. I guess I'll just be a victim I don't know I do carry mace tho.
Yep Canada doesn't allow to protect yourself. I also bet they don't give out accurate crime rates. If they did everyone would demand to carry hand guns.

People say it increases crimes but im not convinced.. a gun is a weapon but so is a knife.. it all depends on the person using the gun could be used for good or evil
@Rangers It is 5 years in prison no if and or buts if she gets caught. If a guy was trying to rape her and she shot him. He would get 2 years for attempted rape and she would get 5 years for having a gun.

I'm some where between those 2 extremes. I couldn't vote for either of them. I'm not against guns by any means. I own a few long guns myself. Hand guns are strictly regulated up here in Canada. It is pretty much not allowed to carry up here.
I like my guns, I just don't like that anyone else has any... like, neighbors, non-neighbors, good people, bad people, cops, criminals, school kids, Ted Nugent... etc. I'd don't trust anyone to have a gun besides my own self.
What is right for him, is not necessarily the right thing for ME. Apparently, he lives in an environment of people with little social integrity. That makes me feel sorry for him and his family.
He has it made. You could not be luckier. He admits is. He performs when he wants. A babe for a wife. Attractive Children and grandchildren. Lots of land. Hunts and he cooks what he hunts. Has a pod cast. Is invited on Fox, Oan, and others.

However - you will have noticed that firearms don't attract me, and that in my own life I live well enough without them. I also don't categorically object to having them if one feels a need for it.
I just enjoy a day on the beach a lot more when there are NO bullets flying around :)

No it doesn't. When a person is robbed, they often get caught by surprised. You will be a complete idiot to try to draw your gun on someone when they already have a gun pointed at you.
Everyone carrying a firearm implies that everyone is a victim. Which isn’t the case. There are many people who should not possess a weapon bc they are what creates victims LOL.
What’s wrong about it? Not everyone deserves a firearm. We’ve seen an overwhelming amount of times what happens when weapons are in the wrong hands. Not even that but victim blaming? “You weren’t carrying so you had what happened to you coming” such a dumb mentality
No, actually it's the opposite. Studies have shown that guns are linked to more crimes: murders, rapes, and others. Far less research shows that guns help.
No, if you google "more guns more crime", you'll find a plethora of studies that show more guns equal more gun crime, negligent shooting and suicide such as this one, for instance
Link one of your "studies" then, or scroll around a bit on areavibes. com and compare cities in anti gun states to pro gun states and you'll find that if violent crime rates have any correlation, it's one where more guns= less violent crime. Canada has more than 3× the rate of violent crime as the US and the UK has 5× the overall crime rate as the US (they don't use as much major categories like they're supposed to, but rape rates, robberies, burglaries, and assaults are all astronomically higher, yes murder rates are lower though).
You can stop making guns , quit selling ammo and criminals will always have a gun. You will never stop that. Like an order to stay away from a person. The guy is coming and a piece of paper ain't going to stop him. A lot of dead women can second my comment.
