Not a crime but a hardy go fuck yourself on privileges. Like travel. Most countries look for a reason not to have visitors well before covid. Any services. No shirt no shoes no vaccine no service. Even work, if you can't meet the minimal requirements of basic safety standards of course no one will hire you. Not caring about any dangerous element in life is as dangerous as covid.

So anyone who is haphazard with safety should have privileges taken away because someone else is getting hurt and someone else is going to be responsible for the damages. Has nothing to do with rights or freedom. "You" avoiding safety or individual responsibility are the ones taking away people's freedom and ability to be alive.

We have a virus which, in the US, all things considered, has a relatively low infection rate and an even lower mortality rate. Of those, an extremely disproportionate number of them have been older than 80 or had other conditions or diseases. Speaking of proportionality, here's something else to consider. We're up to... what, 600,000 deaths now in America, as of August 2021? That's just over half a million. Approximately 330 MILLION people live in America. That's barely one half of one percent.

The recovery rate is also extremely high.

The next thing to consider is the effect that this has had on people's mental health. Our generation seems to have a rate of anxiety and depression that I can only call disturbing. In some places, they lost their jobs, they couldn't see their families, they couldn't see their friends, they couldn't go out and have fun, they couldn't go to church (the few that still do). Additionally, this goofy virus was super, hyper-politicized. People who were skeptical about the deadliness of the virus, the effectiveness of masks, and the need for lockdowns were cast as "enemies of science who wanted people to die". Do we want to make social relationships and interactions even worse by adding "enemies of the law" to that?

Also worth noting, Adolf Schwab... excuse me, Klaus Schwab, one of the clowns at the UN, has said that COVID does not pose an existential threat to mankind. I guess he hates science too, right?

And lastly, we've heard terms like "Orwellian", "Draconian", "totalitarian", and others thrown around a lot. Personally, I don't think that the fears that these are moves towards communism are unfounded.

So no, refusing to vaccinate is not and should not be a crime.

You would need to define, firing a weapon in public... people do it all the time at gun ranges, or out in the country side at targets or while hunting... is that not all considered public?

No one gets hurt most the time, barring freak accidents.

Maybe your referring to people randomly waving a gun around in public and firing, which would be more comparable to DUI, no one is guaranteed to get hurt but a good chance.

Not getting vaccinated, is not a guarantee someone will get sick or if they do that they will suffer any ill effects.

I don't think it should be a crime, however if it can be proven that someone who refused it got you or your family sick, which is totally possible due to how they can track the spread of viruses, this is how they are able to track the source and outbreaks. Anyways if it can be tracked and proven, it could be a civil matter.

Long before covid, I would get sick from people who refused to use their sick time and stay home from work... some companies don't offer sick time, some do, yet people would save their time off for vacations and come to work sick... should that be a crime if someone comes to work sick and gets others sick? Lots of people die from the flu each year too.

No I don't think it should be a crime. Some people have valid reasons for not vaccinating. Like underlying health conditions. As long as they are masking in areas needed to be and proper hygiene (handwashing etc) I don't think we need to attack everyone who chooses not to. In Vancouver (where I am from) our number diminishing daily... so obviously protocols are working
To punish someone for choosing to not vaccine is not appropriate. If they are running around spitting and coughing on everyone then I can see getting a fine.

Absolutely not. It is not a crime to not get vaccinated for any other vaccine. The most I would accept as a free citizen is mandated for public schools - assuming the vaccines worked and worked against these new variants. What's comical is that if YOU re vaccinated - what do you care if someone isn't? Absolutely communist and un-American. 50% are already vaccinated, probably more than that have natural immunities from getting the disease.

I wil be vaccinated in the next couple of weeks. My spous is vaccinated. But requiring something not yet approved by the FDA, made in an 8-10 month rush, for a disease with a 99.9% survival rate? Facts matter. You can take the time to look at facts or instead listen to propaganda fed to you. The people who can vote elected a government that is tyrannical and forcing anyone to submit their body to an experimental drug that lacks full FDA approval is the greatest tyrannical act of all. Also, the vaccine does not protect you from getting covid, it only lessens the symptoms and reduces the chances of hospitalization and death. So you can get the virus and spread it whether you are vaccinated or not. Just look at that fully vaccinated delegation from Texas to see examples. I haven’t been vaccinated because I’m in a very low risk group. If I wasn’t I might consider it but only after it’s time tested and FDA approved. My parents support me in that decision. That’s my personal choice. That’s freedom.

Being drunk whilst driving and shooting off a gun both require that a certain course of action be embarked upon with intent, whereas refusal to be vaccinated simply requires inertia on the part of the one who doesn't want to be injected.
In the case of the individual who refuses vaccination, they cannot be held to account for the incapacitance or death of someone else unless they had a particular responsibility for that person's wellbeing (ex. a nurse, doctor), or they deliberately set out to spread a sickness they knew was both contagious and deadly (and unless they willingly confessed, this would be next to impossible to establish).
Anyway, the answer is no, it shouldn't be a crime.

I would appreciate people having to pay fines if they were not vaccinated and refused to be vaccinated but still insisted on going to large crowded areas, but if people were not getting vaccinated and not mixing with others, that does not cause for a fine.

In other words, if a person is mixing with others then they are to be vaccinated and if they refuse to be then they should be fined.

While I dislike the fact there are people who don't want to get vaccinated, if they take proper precautions and do not interact with me then I am less bothered by it.

At the end of the day it is free will to make the decision and while you did state those other examples, they don't hold the same value.

The latest I'm hearing is that the vaccinated can still carry as much of the virus in their noses as the non-vaccinated, and transmit it to others equally as much, as well.

Which makes sense to me.

If a vaccinated person breathes in the live virus, then expels it in the presence of another person, bingo, transmission of the virus has occurred through a vaccinated person's body.
Just because a person is vaccinated doesn't make them a non-carrier of the virus.

Not really, Everyone should get vaxed but in reality if someone isn't and the other is. Just means the other is gonna have more chance to have a bad time if infected. And with how many people do actually get vaxed the people who don't become a small not so relevant number.
Therefore no law is really need to enforce it, the virus it's self will do that. Nvm that if one get's the virus naturally and fights it off welp they've basically had a vax just done it the harder way. And with people who hadn't the vax are more likely to get the virus. It works it's self out.

Surely this is predicated on the notion that the unjabbed are willingly and willfully harming others.

It would need to be established that Coronavirus poses a huge risk to the average person. With a low case fatality rate, this can't be established.

And that the jabs are safe and efficacious. This certainly hasn't been established.

No, personally there are certain vaccines that my body does NOT react well to for example the flu shot the last time I got the flu shot do to this I got the flu. There are a number of people who can't take the vaccine and want to. Immunocompromised who don't respond to it and kids who aren't allowed it. If they get sick and have a higher chance of dying, i do think there is blame.

There are a number of schools who don't let unvaccinated kids attend the school. I won't send my baby/kids into a place were I know potentially there can be sickness doing the rounds.

I do, however, think vaccination should be required for international travel, to board crowded flights or cruise ships or to attend large scale public events. Don’t want to get your shots? I’m vaccinated (moderna) and the chances of me catching covid are infinitesimally small. Even if I do get it there is a good chance my immune system will handle it better and i will have much lesser symptoms (which would make me less contagious).
