There have actually been a large number of experiments testing masks against the spread of influenza and time after time they have been proven to not work for that purpose just like with COVID. They had also been proven not to work for sars-cov-1. Fauci knowing the consensus of the scientific community first told you masks wouldn’t help you because that was the truth. Then over time he was persuaded by outside interests to shift the goal post. First he moved to saying they will not help you, but you can wear one if it makes you feel more comfortable once PPE was sorted out for hospitals. The religious cult of the mask rose in blue Democrat cities and since Fluci is politically aligned with the far left zealots of that group and financially influenced by China he started pushing masks as something you should do. Then he figured why not double down with these idiots and tell them to wear two masks because it’s twice as profitable from a sales perspective... Anyone with an education in biology/medicine knows they don’t work for that purpose. There is 40 years of scientific experiments to back it up. But OK, some people wanted to question the science and run the experiment again and they found that not only were they not effective for containing the spread of the virus, but they were likely detrimental. States with mask mandates did more poorly over a years run than those without mask mandates. Studies on that were published in 2021, yet the mask cult still persists with a conflicting views of science. It’s a case of mass psychosis in Democrat run blue cities where people have come to worship some technocratic religion of fear that is linked with communism and somehow they think they are following the science and blindly obey, when the first thing all students are taught about science in school is to ask questions and follow the scientific method.

We could speculate and say something like, they are meant to mask the identity of rioters (BLM/ANTIFA) on the streets so that when they commit crimes they are not held accountable… We can speculate they being pushed by industry to turn a profit who have bought off Democrats. We could speculate that maybe they are being utilized to train a facial recognition software through public camera networks to identify people in American databases by their eye geometry and cellular phone signals so that masked criminals are more easily identified. We could speculate that the masks are contaminated. We could speculate that masks are used to identify people that easily obey commands (the slave class). We could speculate that there is some sort of airborne dust in the atmosphere that someone wants to protect you from that might be harmful to you (weather manipulation). We can speculate all sorts of things, but the fact is the evidence supports that they do not work to prevent the spread of COVID. If you want to go down some other path you need some sort of evidence.

Covid has changed all this with the sheer numbers of people dying.


For the UK, we have at moment 131000 deaths, that’s 100000 more than seasonal flu.

that is a big reason why mask wearing became a requirement, the sheer velocity of deaths and hospitalisations

those are deaths, we had to build emergency facilities to manage if things worsened.

With the Flu, the NHS is never really maxed out, normal operations are carried out.

with Covid, things changed, the system almost broke, it has broken its workers.


Perhaps going forward we do need to enforce mask wearing for anyone with a cold or unknown respiratory infection.

Probably for many reasons.
We have a flu vaccine. The flu isn't as contagious as covid, you're generally symptomatic at the same time as being contagious. Whereas with covid you are contagious 2-3 days before symptoms can appear. Also the incubation period of covid is upwards of 14 days where the flu is on average 2 days. Covid takes 2 weeks for a mild case to recover and upwards of 6 weeks for severe cases. The flu usually takes about 5 days for symptoms to disappear for mild cases and 1-2 weeks for more severe cases.

Because flu season is year round on the global scale. It migrates around the world every minute of every day.
Even in the pandemic of the Spanish influenza the newly formed WHO cautioned countries from implementing mask or social distancing, banking on herd immunity theory to save as many lives as possible.
And the death rate was higher and the death toll should track the same for Covid-sars19.
