Why are so many people ignorant and not realize Latinos come in all colors, looks, etc?

In the photo I'm a little brown due to the lighting of the bathroom but I am actually very light skinned. I have gotten told by people on here and other places that they don't believe I'm Latino. So they are basically ignorant and probably think all Latinos must have brown or darker than brown skin. Ignorance.

It's not just Latinos that comes in all colors. It's humanity that does. People should be far less concerned about their race and the race of others, then the who they are and others are on a individual level. Because more often then not what a separates a good person from a bad person is who a person is as a individual. Not what race, religion or sexual orientation a person is.

I know skin color, race, etc doesn't matter. I am just talking about how people don't believe a white skinned Latino when they say they are Latino.

Because people still can’t tell the difference between ethnicity, race and nationality.

Because latinos traditionally only acknowledge light skin and mestizos as latinos.

The black slaves and their descendants that stayed in Latin America don't count as one of us. It's just how it is through history.
