Honestly before entering this site I have never heard about considering "Latino" a race. It seems it's only an American thing. And seriously: why you do this? Based on what you categorise someone as "Latino"? Because clearly not based on appearance or skin color. Culture? Then why "Slavic" or "Scandinavian" is not considered a race? Language? Region they come from? "Latino" is not a race. "Latino" is a mixture of races and ethnicities. Some Latinos are mostly White, some are mostly Black and some are mostly Indigenous.

Well first of all most latinos aren't black to begin with nor does the Latin community accept them as part.
We in America definiterate between such races because white Angelo saxson whites are totally different from latino whites definitely from a culture standpoint and often the facial phenotypes are different.
Both of my grandmas are white ladies among aunties, cousins etc but if you look at their faces you can clearly tell they are latina and my father who is natural blonde and have green eyes caucasian, his facial appearance clearly has that of a latino phenotype.
For example this girl below is a Dominican latina but she clearly doesn't look white like the ttypical white person like you nor does the following the girl.
The Latin community just doesn't accept black people as part of their culture nor do black people physically look like the typical latino and latina which are mestizos.

Even people i know say “Im Puerto Rican” despite them being born in America and having only one parent who looks black/white/etc that is actually from puerto rico
Now you sound silly. Immigrants migrate. But if you were born here, you didn't migrate. Christopher Columbus mightve swam his ass over here but we were actually born here. So dont even get me started on how people say African American just because our ancestors are born in some other country. Basically no one is using the terminology for any of these races/cultures/ethnicities correctly

No, Latino is not a race, which is why we Americans don't call it one. Latino is an ethnicity. It appears you simply don't understand what the term means, and you certainly don't understand how it is used in the US. Here's some info for you that should clear up your confusion.

Latino is considered white by the US government. Hispanic is used correctly, to refer to people that have roots from the Spain (Spanish colonists raped the natives). I’m a Spaniard. I’m hispanic, but not latino. You have a large amount of slaves that were sent to south and middle america, which is why they were darker. And you also have native American latinos like Aztec
