Mexico was colonized by Spain. Spain happens to be in Europe if you hadn't noticed. They are primarily White. Spanish Conquistadors went to modern day Mexico and savagely killed most of the natives. They also brought with them smallpox, measles, influenza, etc. that decimated the local populations. Obviously some of the local tribes remained and other Native American tribes settled there as they fled westward expansion in the USA. Many of those Native Americans mixed with Whites from Europe and Blacks from the slave trade creating the Mestizo ethnic group. Just as other European blocks of people migrated to the USA, they also migrated to central and south America. So there are groups of people in Mexico that are of English, Irish, Italian, German, Dutch, etc. heritage. Mexicans are for the most part White. Slavery existed in Mexico so they imported a fair of amount of Blacks to work on plantations as well who make up a portion of their population. Typically the illegals that cross the border are Mestizos, so they are a mix of White, Native American, and Black. Much of the Mexicans that come to America legally though who belong to the middle and upper class in Mexico are generally White.

Obviously Spain was invaded and occupied by the Islamic Arabs/Moorish Berbers for a period of time so there was a little interbreeding which means they might not be as pale as say Scotland but they still are primarily White genetically.

The poor are the people that flood across the border illegally for economic opportunity, thus you see the impoverished Mestizos and Native Americans coming here as representation of Mexico most often... It's like if the USA sent all our Black people to Mexico to find jobs and Mexicans said, why do Americans think they are White because they only witness poor Black people with criminal behavior crossing the border illegally into Mexico. That's basically what is happening, Mexico is dumping their lower class on the USA because the USA has a much stronger economy.

Why are racists always so confused about race? Mexicans are a nationality. There's white Mexicans, there's black Mexicans, there's all kinds of Mexicans. But that's not even the point. You just demonstrated how nonsensical the concept of race is. Nobody even knows what "white" means, its definition keeps changing. Totally useless, just like your brain.

Technically a lot if not most Mexicans are.

If your referring to Latinos, most of that population is also white. To be Latino means merely to have Latin language speaking ancestors, it has nothing to do with the family background of the speaker.

We Americans do not have a term for what the Spanish refer to as mestizo a mixture of Europeans and native Americans that most of us incorrectly call Latino.
