Why are some people on GaG so mean?

If this person didn’t think I was pretty they could have just said something like “Not my type”, “I don’t find you attractive” or “You are not pretty to me but you may be to another person.” I would have been fine with an answer like this.

I think it was harsh, mean and rude of them to call me ugly when I posted a picture of my self in the how do I look section

I don’t expect people on Girlsaskguys to give me false compliments but I would at least like people to be a bit considerate of my feelings. I am a complete stranger to you. I have never done anything wrong to you. I think you have no good reason to dislike me and no good reason to be rude to me

They are inconsiderate for saying stuff like that. I don't know you, or what exactly happened, but I be careful how I say this...

Posting a picture of oneself, and others come along and disgrace one mercilessly is one thing...

But if one posts a picture, and one asks others "how do I look", there's no filter on how others will respond. Otherwise, place a poll, and word the selections that fit to your liking. I can't promise it won't happen again, but at least it will soften the impact if it does. Have a good day ☕

I tend to only do that if i feel like the person needs it, which is very rare. Usually i indeed go for the not my type route if i think they can be pretty to someone else, or i just flatout don't leave a response at all since i don't like insulting people. But if someone is clearly trying to go for yet another ego boost expecting everyone to praise her ill call her out on her BS if she's not pretty.

I got called ugly too by some but I took it on the chin because it allows me to have realistic expectations in my dating life. I want the brutally honest truth because lying to ourselves only hurts our growth aw individuals. Some girls said I was a 7 some said I was a 4. The ones who called me ugly said because I was fat. I'm not a fan of body positivity because I'd be living a lie. Roll with the punches and wear them like armor.
