I'm from the Caribbean and go to med school but I've notice a kind of fucked up behavior among Indian people in the Caribbean. They always act super kind and friendly to white people, when they become friends with them I see many of them actual suck big time to their white friends writing constantly on their wall on how awesome they are. Hell, I think they treat their white friends way better than they do some of their Indian and black friends. Example: An Indian girl I'm friends with on FB goes away for 2 weeks to disney land. She returns home, changes her profile pic and writes a length ass essay post about how awesome, amazing and special her new white friend is. I've also seen similar types of behavoir with Indian people who are friend with white people on FB. Many of them likes nearly all their post and always white knighting/complimenting on how pretty/handsome and awesome they are.
Hell even when it comes to interracial relationships. The vast majority of them go for white people. I've read that many Indian girls go for white guys because they are more masculine and fun in the bedroom. While for Indian men they go for white women because it's seen as some sort of accomplishment and prize to parade around. I mean if preference is an individual thing then why do indians by in large almost always seem to target white people for interracial relationships. Very rarely do they ever go for people who are dark skin.
I mean what's the deal with Indian people obsession with white people and wanting to sleep/become friends with them?
Why do Indian people act like having white friends is such a big accomplishment?

I can better relate to white people. Indians aren't united you know - every state is like a different country with a different ethnic group, language, culture etc. Again, within the same state there are different religions, languages, castes, sub-castes etc. The difference between myself and another Indian is probably greater than the difference between myself and a white. Besides being darker in skin tone, there's not much else that's different. Considering I grew up in a western country, I'm practically culturally no different to a white. Also, white families are a lot more liberal and fun than Indians. As for the last video, that's a great reason why I avoid Indian guys like the plague - they are creepy, ugly, boring and culturally backward.

Hmm.. I've come across an article which said Indian girls in the west tend to talk mad shit about Indian guys and even encourage girls from other ethnicities to not date them. They also tend to pick up and have wild, fun sex with white boys in their college years and 20's but when approaching that biological clock if she isn't married, still single or been pump and dumped by white boys a few times would use the "rediscovering my culture" excuse to get with a well establish Indian guy and marry him.
The same kind of stuff is said about Asian girls too. However, i'm not sure the shit talking is as intense but Asian girls who go for white guys and look down on their own men also seem markedly upset when they see Asian guy is dating a good looking white woman.
Listen to yourself lol. Just another whining Indian guy who hates himself for being a mommy's boy. Quit blaming Indian girls for your poor success on the dating scene. Why not try and work on your confidence, image and personality?
I'm not but i just don't like a false sense of worship for my skin color. If you look at the take on gag you'd notice a lot of the same from white girls. They don't like indian guys going for them just because they are white and fulfilling some sort of fetish.
You're probably Indian, but even if you're white, it won't change my response. I'm attracted to white guys and you can't change that. It's not just the skin color.. white guys are bigger in every way - both physically and personality wise. They are great fun and liberal as I've mentioned. I can relate to them far more than I can with Indian guys. Most of my girlfriends are the same - regardless of their background, I don't know a single one of them who would date an Indian guy.

On one hand I think you are exaggerating the number of Indians who are like this, because Indians are known to stick to themselves more than any race out there. This does create a subset of western-born Indians who feel like rebelling because the culture can be too strict. On the other hand, I know Indian culture has an obsession with white skin and thus white people. I link it to Indians caring a lot about reputation, so status is overvalued and if white means more status... there you go, thats the link. Both traditional indians and westernized indians seem to put white people on the pedestal. It's sad, because white people are human beings too and Indianness is nothing to be ashamed of (including skin color).
They originate from the west. The west has this belief that marrying, having close ties with white persons elevates them, in that it brings a sense of accomplishment and higher social class. It is also the reason why Asians go for white men. I think a lot of races still view white as supreme, because white is marketed heavily look at Hollywood, the share holding, the major companies, the best neighborhoods. There are a lot of successive whites, so I guess if they associate themselves with them, they tend to think that they too will have a higher chance of attaining that type of success.

I mean they literally have every advantage under the sun, every race of women bending over backwards to get one of them. If you still can't get a girlfriend with all these things working in your favour, then there is definitely something wrong with you, big time. It is very simple, in Indian culture it is considered that white people are superior and richer, so they want to have lighter skinned children. It dates back to the British Raj in India, when the white British ran the country. It is illogical, but is in their culture, I love beautiful slim brown Indian women, and I am white, but too old for more children.
As an Indian person... I don't care what race my friends are. Of course, I can't always expect everyone to have the same outlook as me (since I am a Messianic Jew). All believers in messiah are grafted into the nation of Israel. I'm an Israelite first and foremost. Then, I am American because I was born in America. THEN, I say I am of Indian descent.
But back to the question at hand... the caste system is the answer to what you are saying. People whom are light-skinned are seen as more desirable and given more opportunity (this is true in MANY cultures). Dark-skinned? Less so.
I myself am Tamil Indian... possibly seen as the least desirable amongst my Indian brethren. Being friends with someone who is perceived to be..."higher value" can add value to yourself in the eyes of others.
But again, if you are someone like me who is sick of society and decided to carve out your own... that stuff matters not to me. I only want other people who agree with me. Whether they be black, white, Asian, Native American... some weird alien race that I do not understand. Don't care.
i think you'll find favoritism towards white people across ALL races and cultures lmao. not... a unanimous type of favoritism, but it's still there and i don't think any other race shares that. as for why people are clearly obsessed and sycophantic... I don't know. low self-esteem comes to mind.
The Asian society just loves white people. It's the beauty standard. Everyone wants a piece of that white skin. Either sexually or platonically. Many people think it's cool if they know a white foreigner, because their friends might think they're international and blah blah blah.

I dont know where are you from. But if Im not wrong Indian subcontinent was ruled by British/europeans for 200 years. And at that time "white" people were in top position and indians used to work under them. Thats made an impression like white people are posh and desirable to the indian people. Socially that mentality conveys among the current generation through the ancestors.
That doesn't make any sense, if it was true people from any part of Africa, southern America & Asia that was colonised by the Europeans and especially African Americans would obsess with whites just the same but they don't.
@Jxpxtxr Actually that is where you are wrong. People from Africa, south america and asia do have a similar obsession with white people. And aframs are also obsessed, but its different since they are already catered to by being part of the slave history, so aframs obsessions is more in the line of getting attention and special treatment from white americans due to their history, so its still a kind of obsession.
@bones90 As you revived this thread, I should also mention that indians are also kind of shitty in a sense that if you look at internet, they are the one who always complain white girls doesn't like them for being racist bla bla. But in their own country if you dont have fair skin you'll be trashed.
Thats mainly because there are a billion+ of indians and many of them have access to the internet, and they along with east Asians are the biggest race/group on the planet that is still not shown in a respective or positive light by the western media. The west claims to be multi-cultural and inclusive, but Asians are generally not catered too at all in the media unlike blacks and latinos to a lesser extent.
This media message along with the fact that there are less of them in the west, makes them feel excluded and it actually believe it or not lowers their social value subconsciously not only in themselves but also in the minds of other people living in the west. So while having a defeatist mentality doesn't help, its not hard to see why they complain about that particular issue.
Im from the Asian continent, and im adopted living in the west. So im very aware of this issue, and the best way i have been able to avoid it is to pretend im latino or something since i have ambiguous looks.
@bones90 Ah lol, which country? Im from indian subcontinent with european root. But I've a blessed facial aesthetics and people thought many times Im from south America.
Id like to keep it private, but i can say im a brown person, but people dont think i look indian (which im technically not but close) they always think im latino or mixed race. Many girls find me attractive and often flirt and look at me, and I've done well here with casual hookups and one night stands (all sorts of girls, white, latina, black and mixed women etc). But i haven't really done well when it comes to relationships, partly because i dont really like womens mentality and that i dont want to talk about my background. Its difficult when there are so few of us here that share my experience. I have no friends of my own background, most of them are white or latino.

For me, lots of girls tend to look, but here where i live (Sweden, stockholm) they almost never make the first move or approach, only looking and smiling at most. And i feel like this, when i was younger i though standing out and being exotic would be positive, and in some ways it is, but i notice that for white and latino guys, they can often date a girl above their own level in looks. While i usually only get women my own level and in raare cases have i scored with a women who was better looking than myself. And sadly enough when i was a bit younger in school where most people knew of my ethnic background, mostly only girls a but lower than myself in attractiveness showed me interest, while to get with girls on my level they would have to be drunk at first, its kind of like i need to compensate for my ethnicity, while many latino and white men already get points for their ethnicity so they can get away with other issues like being worse looking or unfit etc.
@bones90 I heard in nordic country people like darker skin. I live in a international city (dont want to mention) and I've kind of fair skin (as my root is european). But still I got some weird reaction like a married women turned and looking at me for more than a minute, a boy when walking looking at me keeping his mouth open. So there's a chance that they found me exotic and weird. But as long as girls are coming/hitting on me, I dont mind ;)
There is a minority that likes darker skin, however most nordic girls dont like the facial features of black guys, only sometimes the mixed variety. So in that regard im lucky since i have pseudo european facial features (but more masculine than average) but brown skin. But most women here regardless of ethnicity prefer light skinned european looking guys.
by the way, here is a scientific study that supports the fact that these stereotypes/percieved social value of indians/asians actually make them less attractive in the eyes of women just for being that ethnicity. Men dont behave like this since we are more visual and less likely to be influenced by what others think, while girls are less intelligent and more group centered in their thinking.
the personality trait of being "easily influenced" by other people is itself gender-divergent.
It has been shown that women are more attracted to men when they are aware that he is considered desirable, while men do not show this characteristic in their attraction towards women.

Indian girls find white men more masculine (since they are usually taller, and bigger) than indian men in general. As for the reason why i think they believe they are better in bed:
They like to have foreigner friends, not just white but black, Hispanic and Asian too. Most people in India have never been abroad and thus wanna show that their status is superior than others. No big deal, most Indians are as friendly as a Husky.

It's a sad thing that's partially true for many minority races, unfortunately. I think the media is partly at fault for white-washing society and making people somehow believe that white = good.
Im indian and I have white friends and I dont get a hard on from it. 30 years ago where Im from, I was the only indian in my class, 10 years later someone else came in, 4 years after more.
It is sad but kind of true. I think it is because India has remained a host to many foreign invaders throughout the course of history that somehow affected the self esteem of its people.
This is not true, most countries and regions around the world have been invaded and dominated many times throughout history. So if this was the reason then everybody would be insecure. Also unlike many other nations/regions, India is one of the few who has survived every invasion and in many cases managed to defend and kill off the invaders. And eventually everyone who managed to take power in India like the mughals and greeks, where eventually defeated by the natives and lost power. The British empire is probably the only reason why some indians would be obsessed with light skin, and of course the western media.
