Our test scores keep falling behind other countries. Not because of funding. We spend the most for education. It’s because the curriculum has gotten away from the basics of reading, writing and arithmetic and has become more political such as introducing CRT

As it regards their children, parents' rights are primary. Parents are right to be concerned with the well-being, moral and intellectual formation, and education of their children. Therefore, it is their right to decide what schools their children attend and their right to know what the schools are teaching. It is also their supreme right to speak on these things if and when they come into conflict with their values.

The fact that anyone voted "no" on this is, if I may say so, very disturbing.

I think parents should choose the best schools for their kids, nevertheless it isn't always the school fault why a kid doesn't learn.

If the kid isn't focused and determined to get good grades then no school or teach no matter how good is going to make a difference, besides the fact some kids aren't intelligent as others.

This does not mean that parents tell school boards what to do, though parents should have some input before the school board changes things. More importantly, parents should be able to determine which school (s) their children attend.

School is an indoctrination center and other than reading, writing and basic math it teaches you absolutely nothing and dumbs you down which is the point of course. People should homeschool their kids.

That isn’t true. The Japanese prove you’re wrong. Here’s the thing. You introduce CRT to the curriculum what are you willing to sacrifice to do so? History, geography, science, reading, writing, arithmetic? Kids can only absorb so much. The ONLY way you’re going to introduce something new is to increase the school day and increase the school year like Japan and China. You willing to do that? If not now you know the pathetic test scores our kids have

You do know Japan, like most nations, has most of its curriculum in schools mandated by the state, books approved by the state and the state has final say on everything featured in classes?

Basically no country leaves the curriculum upto parents because a lot of parents simply are idiots, do not understand what is necessary for post-secondary education and don’t bother to put in the time to learn. And well, that ruins it for the child.

No. Japanese schools have it basically fully determined by the state with the booms, class material and all determined by the state. And this especially in high school.

And yes, throwing parents out of this works perfectly fine because basically all parents have no relevant knowledge to replace teachers.

And even if parents want to teach themselves, the state should mandate the curriculum of final exams. And well, if parents don’t want to teach that, all of those kids should rightfully fail all of their exams
